the Yankees regular announcers are so bad I actually prefer him. He sucks and I wish he'd shut up but it's still good to have a change.
I'd take Kay every single time over Costas. He sounds like a badly tuned AI at this point and doesn't know where to put the inflections or even if he should put them. Hell, I'd rather listen to Sterling on his last ride with Waldman over Costas and they're really bad.

I always thought costas was a crads fan. I guess he jumped on the yankee bandwagon after the crads went to s**t.
one good story I remember about costas in the 1980s when he worked at nbc. he was hosting a nfl postgame show and was supposed to plug some I Dream of Jeanie movie that nbc was putting up against a world series game that was airing on abc that night. he said something like "who am I kidding, none of you are watching this. Enjoy the World Series". I seem to remember he got in trouble with the nbc muckitymucks for that.

To be fair, I thought that was a hit, but maybe it was just the camera angle. Seemed to take a really weird trajectory, but Costas also has the view at the ballpark that we don't have.
