In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.
Serious question I ask to any trump supporter who isn’t PB: if a single person dies from Milton because they believe trump and the acolytes complete and total lies about FEMA, do you hold trump responsible?
I admittedly haven't been following this closely. But if you believed FEMA wanted you dead, wouldn't you be more likely to evacuate and, therefore, less likely to die?

He also made "Deep State" a household word. He also publicly called out the Fake News media as being a controlled arm of the DS. These are the guys calling the shots, NOT your president or vice president.
The citizens in the disaster areas that are saying FEMA wasn't helping them but instead were actually confiscating their donations weren't lying, but it's still your right to believe one side over the other. That doesn't mean the side you believe is telling the truth. Elon Musk also publicly stated his starlink equipment he donated was also confiscated. Was Elon lying? Trump calling out FEMA for their horrible response was more than justified.

From their standpoint the PBs of this world exist as 1 of 2 things:

The debate was another great example of this. Following Trump saying he would dismantle the ACA (Obamacare), he was asked if he had a plan ... and he said he has "concepts of a plan" (AKA he has no plan). How can you run for president and not be able to articulate any kind of plan on health care? It's like showing up for a work meeting without even having a rough draft.

I believe they're only claiming responsibility because of all the attention the story got and most importantly because:
1. The callsign wasn't consistent with a NC National Guard H60
2. The transponder was turned off prior to entering the airspace over the distribution center.
3. There was no LZ set up.
4. The registration (tail number) and all other data in the ADS-B was blocked as n/a, as well as all other information about the A/C except the callsign. This is what they do in covert military operations, not while delivering supplies to hurricane survivors.
5. if you watch the video, he's seen hovering over the site and then descends very low while everything below him is being blown around in the air. Was he really setting up to land on top of people's heads on the ground?

You get upset at the government when they don’t want to let random people go into a disaster area with helicopters, and then when something goes wrong while delivering aid you jump down their throats.
