Survivor: GENERAL THREAD

Survivor: GENERAL THREAD

I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about a particular season or votes for hottest, best, etc.

Given that who knows when/if the show will come back, here's a general thread to post all things Survivor.

I won't ruin the OP with my content post, so it will come next.

Enjoy and come on in guys!

They really need to change up the pre-merge structure.

They definitely need to go back to two tribes of 9. Dynamics were so much better because you couldn't have people in sets of 2-3 running the show. I think it also makes a big difference that there is basically only one full day between tribals so the people barely have a chance to develop real relationships beyond surface stuff and fast strategy. They're always looking towards who's going next right away just in case they lose a challenge.

Best games so far on each tribe IMO are Teeny, Sierra (she's basically invisible but still has Sam as a shield), and Sue. Although I don't think Sue has a shot at winning, she looks like a 6-7 person to me, but her and Sam are interchangeable.

If Sierra swaps to a disadvantage she’s screwed based on everyone knowing she’s sucking Sam

lol new era and 'swaps'

They’re definitely foreshadowing that coming back

Get rekt, Kishan. The look on his face when Rome stole his vote was priceless.

I like Teeny, I hope she can survive her clowntribe

Thought it was a significantly better episode than last week and seeing both Rome and Sol survive is a plus for the season moving forward.

Safe to say I did not have Genaveve going from the most anonymous player on the season to Kim Spradlin mode in the space of one week on my bingo card

Can't really decide if this was a good or bad move just yet.

Pros:
- puts something on your resume, though I seriously discount the value of "big moves" made prior to the merge in helping you win
- removes someone who looked like they had potential to be a player with some moves in them

Cons:
- has alienated Teeny. She's on her own now and is gone as a free agent at merge.
- is now aligned with Rome and Sol, an alliance that has no staying power at all. Sol is gone from that group at the merge.
- the alternative was a reasonably strong four person alliance: Sol, Teeny, Kishan, Genevieve to go into some kind of upcoming merge if they can avoid going to tribal again; Sol remains an easy 4th wheel if they do have to vote someone out

Overall...I didn't really like the move. Another "big move" for the sake of making a move rather than just accumulating power and alliances until the time that people actually remember to make it.

Roma: "It's not a threat, it's an ultimatum."

FYIW, and ultimatum without a threat attached is useless.

Teeny voting for sol last week and then telling him were 2 terrible moves by teeny. Is there any upside to that?

I believe that Aysha said in her exit press that Rome and Genevieve were a lot tighter than was shown in the episodes.

So on that basis being in the tight duo in a tribe of four if they do indeed have to go to the next tribal is much stronger compared to being on the outside of the Teeny Kishan tight duo.

The issues I have is
1) There is only one tribal before merge anyway so roughly 66% of the time they just win
2) Having a player like Rome as your number 1 and taking him into the merge can end up blowing up in your face massively

Ultimately the optimal move should have been to just vote out Sol and try and take that core four of two tight pairs into the merge but for whatever reason Kishan decided to blow that alliance up.

Kishan's planned move at least had the benefit of if it worked, he'd have a strong alliance of three people. Agree that the optimal move was just vote out Sol and everyone involved was FPS'ing all over the island.

He probably finds out. I'm sure they dissect every vote. If no one fesses up, then what? Probably builds some relationship to at least tell.

Sol probably my #1 to cheer for right now.

Gabe seems decent but don't see him enough.

I appreciated Genevieve going boss mode. Unclear if was actually a good move, but like seeing the fire in her eyes and going cutthroat.

Andy continues to be the worst.

Andy is doing great for never having talked to a woman before

I love finding a way to use the steal-a-vote. Has it ever been used effectively?

Rome clearly should have wanted Sol out. But i guess they were both targeting Rome ultimately

Rome steals Kishan vote, which makes Sol feel safe to not use shot in dark, people vote out Sol.

Rome is a gangsta, do you align with him or vote him out? He is very unpredictable.

He’s an e-sports gangsta

Lost in all the rome and Kishan drama - sue claiming she is 45 might have been the most ridiculous lie told in survivor history. I don't think she even looks great for 58. If someone who looked like that was actually 45 I'd assume they'd had a very rough life.

And what is the point of the lie anyways?

I was waiting for a scene of the others laughing about her outrageous lie. It must've happened. Guess producers didn't want to degrade her.

Yeah, pretty funny. I assume the point was not to be the old easy to vote off target

Not that much worse than Carolyn being 35 in Survivor 44.

So much worse

Did Rome and Genevieve intentionally throw the puzzle?

Is Genevieve a fashion designer or corporate lawyer or both?
