I know no one cares much about eggslut, but this comes with a story. A middle aged woman comes down from her room and throws her order across the counter. She is screaming and cursing asking WTF is this... It's not a sandwich. She ordered the slut, which is indeed not a sandwich and what the workers tried to explain. Realizing they should just get her out of there, they ask what she wants and make a Fairfax in about 20 seconds. She storms off to go back to her room. An old couple gets out of the elevator and she resumes yelling/cursing as the doors close. The old man loudly whispers to his wife, "I just farted in there." I love Vegas.

LMAO
About 20 years ago a buddy and I were having a late breakfast at the coffee shop in the Flamingo. Across the aisle was a family of 6-7 spanning three generations. Papaw was in an electric scooter (undoubtedly rented), and as they were leaving he backed into my friend's chair at a much higher speed than necessary for the short space. As he got it into forward and headed out, a guy (I'm assuming his son) walked over and we were expecting him to apologize for the old coot. He just shrugged his shoulders, glanced toward the guy on the scooter, and said, "It's Vegas. What are you gonna do?" and walked off. LOL!
I still haven’t yet still want to try Eggslut. I hear good things.
Ok. I'm on wj's side that Toca is casual dining, but I think it's upscale. Whatever shot that they lit on fire was an elite presentation.
Some people hate it. I assume it's because of the line because comparing it to a FF breakfast sandwich is laughable. I think they used to make their own bread, but now get local fresh bread. Either way, the eggs are elite and the fresh bread is so good. The prices are fine and the OJ is good. I'm kind of waiting for MGM to ruin this, but they already tried to copy it, so I think it should be fine.

Again, I want to try it, but I’m never over there for breakfast, and I can’t imagine when I would be, so it may never happen. We’ll see. I guess most of the love I have seen for it through social media was from the LA location, but it looks and sounds phenomenal.
Yeah. I'm not sure I'd go too far out of my way for it, but staying at Cosmo it's a staple.
Great alternative is Egghead at Aria upstairs food hall. And Suns Out Buns Out at Resorts World.
Tried Jin’s Korean BBQ off lake mead yesterday. New spot just opened. Huge portions, solid prices, good quality. Two meats plus 4 sides is like $15-25 depending on what you get and is easily enough for two meals. We got the meat jun, bulgogi, spicy pork, and garlic salt fried chicken (which was boneless thighs and really good)
All of this was $45:
Proper Sandwich Company, delivered straight to my door. Italian beef sandwich and pastrami sandwich. Both very good quality, probably some of the best quick service sandwiches in Vegas. I’d put these on par with Lardo at Cosmopolitcan. Similar pricing, $15-17 a sandwich.
The Italian beef is nearly as good as Windy City, which for me is the absolute gold standard of Italian beef sandwiches. Super tender beef, great giardinera and au jus, bread fresh and soft. Only took one bite of the pastrami but it was damn good too.
$35 for both delivered to me including fees and tip, would have been $50 without discount code.
Killing it w the last couple posts wj94, thanks for those.
I only had it once or twice but I liked Proper Sandwich Co.
Those sandwiches look absolutely delicious. Drool
Ate the pastrami sandwich for lunch cold and it was fantastic. Comes hot from the restaurant but I actually think it’s better cold. Definitely top tier sandwiches. Will order again and try the Italian and the chimichurri beef ones next time.
Burger at Bavette’s tonight. Second time I’ve ever had it and I’m not sure if the first one just wasn’t up to par but this has got to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Didn’t think that the first time. Epic burger and the fries are great. Perfect combo with the honey dip stout from Able Baker. Bavette’s never disappoints. $36 feels cheap for how good this was with a full side included.
wasn't that the place Jay Farber rated #1 on his burger list?
wj, you are killing it in this thread.
That being said, that is a smashed burger with a knife in it. Who cuts a smashed burger in half?

It also appears to come with mayonnaise. Is that considered acceptable in these inclusive times? When I'm in public, I like to stir things up by putting ketchup on hot dogs, but I draw the line at mayo on burgers.
The mayo is for the fries LDO
There’s no mayo on the burger, I don’t like mayo. The sauce for the fries is like a bearnaise
mayo is delicious

Ketchup on hot dogs is way more bush league than mayo on a burger, unless we’re talking Sonoran dogs, then it’s borderline acceptable. Burger spread is Mayo based, aioli is Mayo based…think you may have missed the boat here. (The SS Mayo). And I’m not even a Mayo on burger is a must thing…but I am very anti ketchup on normal (non-Sonoran) dogs.
the mayo origin story is a correct ratio of egg yolk and oil switfly followed with a squeeze of citric acid
may i only ask you why that would not be good on a burger served along side crispy tater tots
also a great grilled cheese hack when spread on the toasted side
