Nobody wants these games to start more than Mannfred.
Shohei just spoke to the media for the first time. In a prepared statement, he said:
-He never bet on baseball, or any other sport,
-He didn't know that Ippei lied to him, and that Ippei took the money from Shohei's account to pay his gambling debts
-He'll continue to cooperate with the investigation, and play as the investigation plays out.
If all that's true, then this is probably the best possible outcome for his reputation going forward. He's a naive star athlete who trusted the wrong person. It happens.
In any event, these games are about start! Last year, just like we all predicted, "Someone Else" came on strong in the playoffs, as the Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks for the World Series. Can that happen again?

What's the modern record for most runs in a playoff game? I don't see why Ohtani won't get some of that. 3 thru 4 innings.
Muncy setting the postseason record for consecutive times reaching is random and wild.
That's 4 runs for Ohtani thru 6. Looks like the record for a playoff game is 5, as is the only reasonable guess(?). The list of players who scored 6 times in a game does not include any post season games. So I guess he is a run away from joining the club. Pretty good year.

Also in 88- granted it wasnt with 2 outs but prime Gooden giving up a 9th inning game tying home run to Mike Scocia in game 4 of the nlcs when he hit 3 homers all year is pretty bad.
Donnie Moore in the 86 lcs up 3-1 in the series . Angels up 5-2 top 9. Boston scores two. Then moore comes in 2 outs man on first . Dave Henderson homers with 2 strikes.Angels actually tie it but lose in extras and go on to lose the series.
