Most of these men probably wont vote at all, and if they do vote it will probably be for Harris, because that is what the ballot harvester will fill in for them.

Trump and the Republican Party gaining momentum with demographics that dont vote in large numbers is obviously not great for Democrats, but not as bad as if it was demographics that do vote.

Yeah, I'm sure the dems will have some contingency plans in place just in case these turn into real Trump votes. Like a truck trailer parked up somewhere with boxes of ballots cast for Biden (oops I meant Harris) all ready to mysteriously turn up in the middle of the night if needed.

Remember when you said you never tell lies and always correct yourself? Still waiting for that 2020 voter fraud evidence.

by rickroll k

it was not consistent with your appendicitis adventure

What was the logical inconsistency or inconsistency in position among those posts?

by rickroll k

i still think it's 50/50 that the list is a giant level constructed by david putting the people most tilting to roc just a nudge above him 😀

I think cuepee is the only person to ever truly put me on tilt in this forum and that was only because of his amazing stamina in clinging to terrible arguments about legal standards.

by Gorgonian k

He wasn't referring to being wrong about facts??? hahaha WHAT

I only meant you never admit you're wrong about opinions, man. OBVIOUSLY

hahaha

Correct, which is why I referred to "beliefs about reality" in the post and not empirical facts. Though I know you (both) conflate the two fairly regularly.
Neither do you, which is why you're a hypocrite and your value judgements of others are unimportant. Some of your beliefs about reality are objectively wrong and some are debatable.....
So, what exactly is the new claim, champ?

by David Sklansky k

Not necessarily. I am still balancing how to deal with two bad thoughts.

1. If a small group of people deserve to be treated no better than, and maybe even slightly worse than a larger group of people. but are in fact in some respects being treated better, you can make that right by not treating them as well as they are, OR by treating the larger group BETTER than they are. However, if BOTH groups are being treated worse than they should be, to go out of your way to make it "fair" by treating tha

For pt 1, there is a cost to treating prisoners the way rickroll wants to treat them, and that cost should be taken into account when crafting policy, regardless of what you think about comparative fairness.

On pt 2, no one suggested that providing gender affirming health care to inmates is 10,000th on the list of issues that people actually care about.

It very obviously is something that people care about, which is why Trump is flogging the issue in ads.

by d2_e4 k

Ok, put me down as someone who disagrees with this and thinks it's ridiculous. The **** has it got to do with Kamala, other than being from California? Is she proposing that the federal government adopt this policy? It looks like the state was forced to do this by a court ruling anyway?

And the republican PAC has spent $70 mill on ads talking about the 4 million dollars spent on surgeries. Pretty funny, huh?

It's rarely just the issue itself. It's usually an issue that succinctly epitemises other grievances & prejudices

by d2_e4 k

So, what exactly is the new claim, champ?

Someone doesn't know what the word objectively means, apparently.

it's somewhat interesting(mostly sad) to see seemingly smart people get so overwhelmed with trans panic/bigotry that they become stupid.

It would be sad if it ever happened.....just don't think I've ever met anyone irl or online who I thought was smart who also thought trans issues were anything other than made up right wing grifting.

I just don't even understand when or why it became such a hot button political topic. I can't remember anything being mentioned about it, say, 10 years ago, and it seems like at some point, almost overnight, it suddenly became front and centre of every political campaign.

Yeah, definitely one of the most made up issues. Basically became a thing after wvwryone stopped caring about anti gay stuff.

I dont think we should diminish the great work by the pro transgender rights movement over the last few decades to make it a political issue and successfully (in some countries at least) get transgender rights legislation passed.

It's literally just desperation. They will harp on anything that gives them a chance to score a point or justify why they will vote for Trump to ease their cognitive dissonance (they know he's a piece of actual excrement).

Do you think leftwing trans ideology just came out of nowhere? While the right played a role in exacerbating things over the past decade, they weren't the ones who created these ideas or put them forward in the first place. When radical ideas take hold and go mainstream, of course there's going to be fallout.

I don't really follow this stuff. What is different about trans ideology (whatever that is) now to 20 years ago?

When you have large numbers of people supporting the use of puberty blockers and hormones on kids, that's not a made up issue. We can argue about whether or not that's okay, how often it happens, etc., but it's not "made up." Weaponized? Yeah... But dictionaries are literally redefining words due to social pressure. I mean...

The problem is that fringe theories have gone mainstream, and those who still hold views that were conventional 20 years ago are called bigots and told they're fighting an invisible boogeyman.

The right has gone so insane that they think "let's just leave this to doctors and people impacted by it" is radical.

Alright, fair enough. Yeah I've heard some crazy stuff mentioned, like men having cervixes and such. I honestly don't pay much attention to any of it.

My sincere belief is let people believe or be whatever their truth is, wtf do I care

That being said I did derive some perverse enjoyment from Caitlin Jenner trying to latch to MAGA and going to a MAGA convention while running for Governor during the recall attempt and being transphobed into leaving in disgrace

It really didn't help that many of those who struggled with a radical change in their worldview were trolled and attacked so much. Particularly those who had faught so hard for womens rights. Onec it becomes abouit personal attacks/trolling it's so much harder to change minds and we create a more effective opposition.

Do you take the same attitude with the Playbigs of the world?

If your argument has merit, you could go to the medical community. If it doesn't you can always go to politicians.
