Am I ever good here? How can have I played it better? 4-bet fold pre-flop maybe?
Okay, so I am somewhat of a semi fish, I play 1 or 2 poker tournies per week for midstakes at a local casino. Kinda decent results (cashing 1 in 3-4 tournies regurarly). I rarely discuss poker hands but this one that happened last week got my brain spinning, should have I done better here? DId I play too passive?
So down there bellow is the link for hand history how it played out. Have in mind that we 3 battling in hand are the 3 biggest stacks on the table. Mid stage of the tournament (140 entries, 80ish left in play).. so with all that in mind, am I ever good here on the turn? Villain told me that he did not expect me folding Queens and that he had it - he did not say what he had... I would have snap called any card except Ace of clubs and King of clubs on turn. Should have I called this? Any insight is welcome for a half fish like me 😀

This hand plays awkwardly out of position and I'd prefer to 4 bet preflop. The 3 bet from the button could be a squeeze play, and I'd rather define the hand immediately than go to a flop 3 ways and OOP against one player. If the button is a rock who literally only 3 bets AA/KK, then never mind.
As played I think your flop and turn play are correct. If we call turn I don't see what we're beating besides a crazy bluff or AcTx. With no reads I let it go there.
think it looks good, nh
tough to call much here that isn't JJ, KK, AA. Think 88 should fold pre btw vs the squeeze. At least the first time he does it 😀
Yeah I think now in retropsective 4bet fold would have been better though I wouldnt save much more chips. Result would be similar
Main thing why I played it cautiously was biggest stack in the middle, he was running hot and had some great plays. If I was h2h with the button Id hit it bit harder.. but oh well, all in all I think I lost the minimum there. Only bluff Im beating is Ace of clubs, but after a 3bet on the button into 2 largest stacks on the table, I cant see him having anything less than Ace of clubs with a Jack - and thats the only thing I beat. Jacks got there, flush hot there.. really cant see too much value in a call..
Personally, I think your mistake was not betting the flop to try taking control and see if he would fold while you had an over pair to the board still. I would not worry about the flush since you have a club. Could he have AK? Yes, cuz you let him control it. If you are going to put a lot of BB in preflop, you better have a plan for post flop. And fear is not a good plan.
Under 60BB effective, I'd be more inclined to 4-bet/call unless I have a specific read that villain is a very tight 3-better. Stakes matter, environment matters (live or online?)-- but there are players who will get JJ/AK in here for sure.
4b call pre. As played raise the flop. Not folding turn when he can have A♧Xx....
Yeah, 4b/call pre. As played, x/shove flop. As played shove turn. As played, call shove. On the turn, it is likely either your pair or your flush draw is good.
Do you have some reason to think his 3!s are mostly KK+? Otherwise playing too cautious.
