Another correct decision against Arsenal
webb sent the text F&&& Arsenal
lol
That’s a tough one. He probably doesn’t score but also can’t let people cynically take the attacker down there. Yellow not enough and red too much but he knew the risk he was taking there.
Arse getting a red card every other game. Dirty bastards
Did Sky just show Webb texting Stockley Park?
If he calls a red then fair game there. But to look at that over and over and decide there’s clear evidence of a mistake is pretty stupid.
Really starting to think it needs to just go to a coaches challenge for anything subjective. Interventions seem to just be formalities more than letting the ref really look without bias.

So if he decides in real time that it isn't quite (knowing that he has the backstop of VAR) then when he gets to see the evidence in full, in slow motion, including stuff that isn't even in his field of vision, he changes his mind, that's stupid?
It's a clear red, not even close
Course I have Saliba in FPL though ffs

I guess it depends on what you think “clear and obvious error” means.
Refs have set a really high bar as precedent for overturning calls on the field. I don’t think this particular instance meets that metric.
Yeah, no way. He probably thought there was a covering defender with a credible chance of pressuring him, but on VAR saw that it was not the case. It is not like he can keep track of all 22 players all at the same moment. We act like it is so easy from a view they don't have with 14 replays.
Oh look another correct decision against Arsenal

Saka is a pretty massive miss for them, take him out and the Arsenal attack looks pretty ordinary.
We know their defensive unit is probably the best in football at the moment but think if they were to lose Saka for 8+ games they'd need a lot of luck to get through that period with a decent record and would probably be out of a title race.
Any Arsenal tears going spare?

when saka is out farteta should just free the second best forward in the league who has been warming the bench lately. its kinda weird that he has only 1 goal in 2024 when he is so so increbible.
Lol nice to see Saliba bringing his international form. What the **** was he thinking there.
Deserved win, cant go for the title of we get moronic red cards every other game

I'd be interested to know how this distribution of chance creation compares to other teams....
Wonder how extreme we are for example
Seems like there was enough uncertainty where it wasn't a clear and obvious error from the on field call. Probably lean towards red even though I think theres a reasonable chance white can get in position to defend.
Took me all of 3 seconds to find the exact same play not get called for arsenal which is the annoying part.
That aside we were kind of **** before the red anyway. Had a feeling going into this game we were gonna drop points.
i didn't start following the EPL closely until several yrs ago
i've learned that ARS fans are the worst during this short time frame
Seems like there was enough uncertainty where it wasn't a clear and obvious error from the on field call.
The man who literally made both decisions disagrees with you here.
Imagine if fans of other teams went round finding an example from years ago of a similar decision going the other way against their team every time anything happened.
