the Panthers are so ****ing bleak.

The New England Patriots might have the bleakest future.

I would put my money down on the Panthers today if the Patriots and the Panthers were to play each other, in three years on a neutral field.

$54m of dead cap this year doesn't help much tbh but that's the scariest thing - at least the Patriots are terrible with $50m unspent (and a decent looking rookie QB). Your cap has only $1m this year and $40m next year. Although maybe you'll find a way to reduce/get out of the $31m Taylor Moton charge!Shadeur is like #10 on big boards. Maybe he rises but can't think they'd t

That’s the result of a guy who thinks throwing money at problems will solve things.

would you rather have a handful of sunk years with the hope of a solid rebuild, or instead root for a perpetual wild card hopeful with no chance of advancing any further

I'm not interested in betting, but Maye looks like he's going to be decent and that's a helluva start. Panthers have 0 hope at QB

Then they have a giant amount of cap space (currently $132m vs $40 of Panthers) next year plus they carry over $40m from this season.

and not needing a QB but very likely having a top 3 pick might allow them to get a trade haul in the draft...albeit unlikely now given the QBs aren't performing in college

I prefer the rebuild strategy. But that strategy paying off assumes you have a good owner and front office.

49ers Brock Purdy ain't who we thought he was.

that sounds like something hara kiri would say to cub fans

Looking like an ACL for Aiyuk

lol everyone comes out like clockwork when Purdy has a poor game, but nothing on Mahomes' continued struggles.

Surprise, not having your WR1, WR2, WR3 and your all pro pass catching RB vs one of the best defenses in the league tends to go poorly

Overall Mahomes has sucked, but he's still clutch when it matters.

Looking ahead to next week. GB only -4.5 against JAX.

I wonder how much of this Patriots demise we can blame on Belichick? I'm hoping alot.

I mean, mahomes sucked

Russ looking decent.

Miami should call Pittsburgh tomorrow and trade a 3rd and McDaniel for Fields.

i consider myself the biggest bork stan in this forum but this is probably where i get off the ride

yes, the niners are ****ing decimated (although he had aiyuk for the first half and still was mid), but the niners only lost by 10 and there were 2 plays that stand out: the long pass to kittle and the long pass to cow guy. in both instances, bork underthrew what would have been easy td's if he hits them in stride. those 2 possessions ended in an fg and an int

i saw enough today to be completely all out on extending him at the market rate. a 50 mil qb should hit at least 1 of those 2 for a td much less failing to do so on both. and his interceptions were TERRIBLE. like, really bad. terrible decisions and terrible execution, twice in the red zone. for all the injuries, bork lost this game

This version of the Chiefs are just as scary. Mahomes can play this bad and they can still get away with multi score wins.

It's a solid win but also a result born from a lot of turnovers -- high variance.

Can the 49ers finish 10-7 and does that win the NFC West?

Nah. They’re just running crazy good

This is a 3-3 team that got there. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s not give them more credit than they deserve

Russel Wilson cooked Jets. EVeryone gone after the season. Released, fired. Doom. Gave up a second round pick for nothing really. Cant run cant win. I respect Joe Douglas doing it, hey why not he is gone now anyway. Split milk under the bridge. Your fired, hey you over there, your fired too.

**** the Jets.
Come on down and **** the Jets.
Bring your kids, bring your wife, you’ll watch them play and say **** my life.

He has sucked. But it's tough when all your WRs are injured and your LT is a turnstile vs. Bosa (or any top pass rusher). Mahomes hasn't been comfortable at all in the pocket. They finally conceded and starting giving Morris help this game, which of course limits the offense.

I think the Chiefs are definitely beatable. We probably just lost our CB2, who was playing lights out this year. Just hoping it's one of those broken ankles that magically only take 2 months or something.

We basically need to have zero significant injuries the rest of the year on defense or things are going to start falling apart. And we know the offense is a mess.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Chiefs lost a bunch of games at the end of the year or bowed out early in the playoffs. The NFL is an injury lottery and the Chiefs have been incredibly lucky the last 3 years. This year the luck has run out.
