My current favorite Lions stat through 6 weeks:
Lions have been called for DPI 11 times
Lions opponents have been called for DPI 0 times
Some will say 'Terrion Arnold is a rookie and a bit too handsy for the NFL'
Some will say 'NFL ref bias is real even if its unintentional'
Some may even say 'Small sample size so get back to us in 12 weeks'
can't speak to their WRs not getting calls (variance, riggage, or just their WRs creating so much separation defenders don't even have a chance to interfere all seem plausible)
but their DBs -- not just arnold -- play very handsy and aggressive throughout the route. by letter of law they should be getting flagged for holding like every down, but they know refs can't ruin the game by calling that. smart little gambit imo
I'm sure Aiyuk feels extra justified for his hold out now. And he should, as I'll always favor the players being paid. With that said, injury aside, John and Shanny should have just dealt him to Pitt.
Hopefully he can get back to 100%, but no telling when that'll happen with multiple tears, or if it'll ever happen.

Considering aiyuk took the deal offered to him 2 months prior the only conclusion is that he’s a niner cuz nobody (lol Steelers included) was willing to give up a 1 for him
This is kinda the nightmare scenario for lynch and I’m curious how he navigates it. Aiyuk very clearly isn’t him. The contract is front loaded enough that they can get out of it for pennies but the draft compensation at this point will be terrible. Meanwhile you have Bork trying to QB. Bad times ahead

Your last sentence is contradictory. Where else is the money going if the owners don’t get it?
Are you saying the $10 mil difference between $20 and $30 in your example should go to other players?
If the market says a player of Aiyuk’s caliber is worth $30 mil in the market, then that’s what he should be paid.
Not to mention, a $10 mil difference to a player in Cali is probably worth more like $4-$5 mil after taxes, agent fees, etc.
