tbh i got a 1 month ban, and a 15 days ban, without breaking any forum rule so i kinda disagree with the bold.
Latest ban was because i lacked empathy toward a group of people and i dared to say i couldn't care if they died because of their actions, which is something which is an incredibly normal political position by many people and that doesn't break any rule at all.
It's not particularly easy to have rightwing opinions (even mainstream ones) on many topics and post them here without getting banned.

Just be careful which group you insult . You can wish Trump dead and get a warning but if you did that with Kamala you would probably get perma banned .

It was actually a comment about a specific sub-set of people that , if they vote, vote predominantly for Trump. People who are talked horribly about in this very forum by many posters with 0 repercussions all the times.
I was simply targeted without breaking rules.
let’s be real, it is utterly scummy to talk about PM’s in an ominous way and then not leak them. Either leak the PM’s or stop talking about them, because this middle way is such a hack thing to do.

I would suggest that in a thread specifically labeled for moderation questions that it is poor form for a mod to make jokes like that. Not that in the end it would have changed this situation, but it's not a good look.
I would generally agree it was probably in bad taste (poor modding form?) to make that joke in that thread towards that poster. A gaff if you will

But times are very hard emotionally and people are going to miss jokes and go OTT at times. If it's possible at all then end the ban. No apologies or analysis necessary.
