**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Who's here? It's time for the Question 7 Reveal!

7. Name a QB with THREE+ 300-yard passing games by the end of Week 7.

As has been mentioned previously, we have an unusual skew of answers for this question.

There are only two correct answers in the entire NFL, and only 1 was selected by the participants.

Next year, we'll move the qualifier down to 250 yards, and I think we'll have much more correct answers.

So we'll do this review a bit differently.

The one unplayed correct is Baker Mayfield, who has games of 370, 347, and 325 yards this season.

The only other correct answer was played by 2 participants. Geno Smith is your NFL leader in passing yards so far this year, with games of 395, 327, and 312 yards.

And SOMEhow, Jeremy517's perfect game SURVIVES this blood bath of a question! Congrats to the last perfect game standing, heading into Week 8!

Now for everybody else, the incorrect answers.

This question's SHEEP answer was played by yours truly (AGAIN), for a total of 9 players. CJ Stroud has some juicy looking MVP odds right about now. He has games of 345 and 331 yards, but his next best game is 260.

So with a SHEEP score of 9, plus 1 correct answer submitted, Jeremy517 and ligastar will receive a score of 2 for this question, and EVERYBODY else gets a 10 spot.

The next most popular incorrect was played by 6 players. The bloom is fully off the newly minted Dak Prescott rose this season. He came pretty close for this question, with games of 379, 352, and 293 yards.

Our next incorrects are a pair of answers selected by 5 entrants. Jared Goff is also having a fine season this year, with games of 315, 307, and soooo close at 292 and 280.

Our other would-be 5-point incorrect is a guy who polarizes opinions as to whether he's good. I'd like to remind people that Patrick Mahomes is the author of a 5,000 yard, 50 TD season, which is why I invested a 4th round pick on him in fantasy. I wasn't paying for THAT, but I thought I was getting a high floor. Anyway, his statistics haven't been great this season, with only one game over 300 so far. But he DOES have a spotless record in the one statistic that counts, and that's DUBS.

Our next incorrects are a pair of would-be 4-pointers. Jordan Love missed a couple games to injury this year, but the Packers are looking dangerous in the stacked NFC North. He has one game of 389 yards, but his next best is 260.

The other would-be 4-pointer is Justin Herbert. He's already had his bye, and has one game of 349 yards, and then 4 more where he didn't break 200.

Our next incorrects are a trio of would-be 2-pointers. Jalen Hurts is another guy where the opinions on him as a QB are varied. He has a game of 311 yards, and his next best is 264.

Also played by 2 contestants, our next incorrect is Joe Burrow. He's played better lately, and hit the qualifier twice, with games of 392 and 324 yards.

Our final would-be 2-pointer is an injury bust, Tua Tagovailoa. There's talk he might return soon, though it's unclear if continuing to play football is a good decision for him. He did go over 300 yards, at 338 in the week 1 win over Jacksonville.

The remaining incorrects went ace-hunting.

Here are the scores after 7 questions!

Easy week for me to score

Jeremy517 slides into the top spot, on the back of the LAST perfect game standing!

And I'm comfortably secure in the Trollface spot.

First player to break 100! Is that bad? ...It's not good.

That's all for this week!

Enjoy the games this weekend, and we'll be back next week... where offense sells tickets, but DEFENSE WINS GAMES. Did your team hold another team to single digits?

Tune in maybe Tuesday, maybe Thursday to find out!

It's all downhill from here for me.

Geno and Baker being the only two correct is hilarious.
