Thread to discuss Phenom Poker launching end of May.
Marketing themselves as player controlled with new take on rake-back rewards. Being backed by Alec Torelli and others.
Pls share thoughts or updates, particularly on the technical side of how a poker site works with DAOs and voting rights.
Been speaking to founder for some time and he's very responsive.
Best,
Ders

Hey all, I wanted to drop in and introduce myself. My name is Michael Dunlap and I've recently joined the team over at Phenom Poker, focusing on marketing and communications. I'm a long-time online poker player (back to the Paradise and Planet Poker days) and was lucky enough to not have any significant balances online for Black Friday. I'm a 15-year veteran of the casino business, after which I transitioned into marketing.
I'm here to answer any questions you may have about the site and to keep
Hi all,
I am a professional PLO player, and wanted to share my experience on the site so far. Overall, I have enjoyed the experience, very low traffic and games seem soft and I really enjoy the rake back system they have. I do have a minor concern, last night I was one tabling and noticed what my balance was in my account outside of the table that I was playing. Long story short I left the table with a little over $750 in cash and my cashier never updated. It’s like the money that was on that ta
ya, had that happen as well. Unfortunate response time is a little slow...they are swamped for sure!!!
This works. But way much easier to open a Kraken account and send USDT on Polygon. $5 in POL would last 7 lifetimes too....lol
So if I buy USDT on Kraken do I automatically buy USDT that exists on the Polygon network? When I bought USDT on CB it was on the ETH network and I had to swap it for USDT on Polygon.

NO!!! has to be USDT on POL and will need a smidgen of POL ($1 last forever) for gas to send from Kraken to Phenom. USDT ON POLYGON only atm.... its in the works to accept other Crytpo as well. But USDT on POL is blazing fast and cheap cheap cheap transaction feees.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the heads up and will make sure I get USDT on Polygon. Sounds much simpler than the 10 or so hoops I jumped thru (and lots of fees) to deposit.

This might not be the case for you, but I noticed that you have to "exit" the table rather than simply close the window. Otherwise you are sitting at the table in perpetuity it seems.

Ya...it can be a little tricky but once you get the hang of it its easy!!! Kraken covers everything needed , altho may be better to use a "middleman" like MetaMAsk etc as some Exchanges get funny about funding poker sites. FWIW...the player to player trxfrs works great too!

They been trying to fix that, or shld i say its on the list, as its intuitive to X outta a table and not look for some random exit bttn
Was able to deposit from Binance last night. Lost $10 out of $200 due to transaction fees Coinbase ETH to USDT. Coinbase USDT to Binance USDT. Binance USDT to Phenom Poker.
Converting ETH to USDT on Coinbase was probably most of it, they really kill you when converting one crypto to another. Next time Ill just buy USDT on Binance most likely.
There was little 3/6 mixed last night and I was able to get a full round of games in 4 handed until someone left. Solid mix of games. I dont like Baduecey, so that could get replaced with a different draw game or even just removed. Not sure how I feel about 2-7 Razz yet.
As far as software goes. I turned off sounds in the settings but it still had loud alert sounds. If there was an allin situation with a short stack, there would be a few seconds of lag and then the cards get dealt out super fast. Not sure if thats just server lag on our end but the other guys at the table were seeing the same thing so it wasnt just my client.

if you go into the "Advanced Trading", it will save you quite a bit in trading fees (like $0.40ish mentioned below)... I think they have the basic mode just to get newbie folks who don't know what they are doing, and are able to really get them with fees... seems kinda predatory IMO

Oh I didnt know that was an option with them. I really only use Coinbase as a bank to move money around easily on poker sites, not getting into the weeds with trading.

that's what I use it for as well (not much for trading). but the fees can add up, so I think it's probably worth checking out
Games look slow but juicy. I think it's interesting to monitor in general but they'll have to pump their traffic somehow... maybe when client is ready if they want to actually compete!

They are aware of this glitch. Also, can Join Phenom Discord to report bugs and many other things if thats your thing.

It's basically a second Beta Testing mode until most Glitches are patched, fwiw. But, there's a mass marketing campaign on the horizon and MTTs/SNGs are being added in coming months which will increase traffic as well. I think it's a smart plan to build slowly... foundation first!!! 3500 players have passed KYC and deposits are growing... it's going to snowball.
how to see what games are in a mix?
So I need POL on Kraken and my intermediate wallet to send USDT to Phenom? I know better than to send straight from Kraken to Phenom but I've never used USDT on any site. The gas fees confuse me a little. Not sure why it doesn't just come out of the USDT balance like other crypto

yeah it's a little weird, but POL is the "gas" that makes the transactions go (similer to ETH on Ethereum Network)... like both networks, you need the dedicated "gas" to send the various tokens (like USDT) on the dedicated blockchain... other blockchains like Avalanche (AVAX), Binance Network (BSC), Tron Network (TRX) work in the same fashion where those are the "gas" and they send the tokens.
Ridiculous lol, good luck to them... they will need it. Maybe they'll get Litecoin or Bitcoin. I don't care if I ever use USDT again

You need very little POL for gas. But you can send USDT on POL from Kraken direct. They are also adding 7 other Coins veryyyyyyy soon!!
Is the site up and running for anyone to play at ?
