I started this as a thread where 2+2 members could share advice on online dating. I'm 25 years old, and have had trouble finding a GF in person, so I've decided to try the online route.
I admittedly have no game when it comes to girls, as I'm a natural shy person, so I'll mostly be on the receiving end of the knowledge. As I improve, I'll share the wealth. :-)
From poker I've learned how helpful it is to have an advisor to give you advice and encouragement, and sympathize with you when you fail.
For starters, what are the best sites out there for free, and what sites are worth laying the money down for a subscription ? I'm on POF and OKcupid.

If you guys want insight to dating check out some of the dating threads in Reddit. Pretty amazing. Really enlightened me to how stupid and insane people are, could help you navigate this cesspool better.
One of the threads that I read a lot is datingoverforty, and despite being over/near 40, hard to tell the difference between them and children.
Now that there is hopefully an end in sight for my separation process, I put up a free profile on Bumble.
Omfg the new profile bump on there is huge. Over 250 ‘likes’ and a load of very ****able matches. Actually probably too many to manage - not sure how to approach it?

Long story short - I worked with a guy who had an employee who was a young, attractive cuban-italian-american, who was very attracted to Jewish women.
In order to have a chance/increase the pool of these women, he eventually adopted the religion, and is now a lead speaker for some sort of Jewish-under-40 PAC, where he gets to travel the country at conventions/speaking events and wine and dine the women. He also realized that the jewish men he was competing with would stand no chance. Talk about a brain for picking up on market deficiencies.

Sometimes I actually go on a good date or two, which I wrote about

in wichita, match with a girl and it seems to go well - i'm very clear that i'm passing through town and that doesn't appear to be a problem and she's eager to meet
we matched on friday but she says she has to get up early on saturday to do some stuff and suggests we meet saturday instead, i tell her i was planning on leaving saturday and she asks me to spend another night because she really wants to meet but saturday is only day she can do it - i agree, she asks for my instagram to chat there to finalize details and adds me
i follow back and suggest a time and an upscale place (midwest upscale, nicety and prices are typical east coast - but because it's in wichita, it still probably serves tater tots) and leave it up to her as the local to choose a time and place of her own
she doesn't respond but it's sorta late and figuring she's either playing it cool or already asleep
today comes around and she full on ghosts me and doesn't respond to my follow up texts
she has not unmatched on bumble nor insta so it's a bit weird - judging that her insta is private, she's only moderately attractive, and has only 5 photos i'm thinking that this is just what she does where she likes to collect followers as she has like 4.5k of them and they are all dudes
i would have stayed here an extra night anyway just to be in a quiet and comfortable spot with wifi for my two busiest days of the week so it's not a real inconvenience
but it definitely feels like this woman is a sociopath and dating apps are her medium where she literally convinced me to spend another night with no intention of actually seeing me
Or just found someone she wanted to **** more?
I’ve mentioned this before but I find these types of profiles remarkable. Fwiw, this woman is probably a 3.5 anyway so I wasn’t thinking about it but even if she was a 9.5 I’m just never swiping right on someone who writes a list of characteristics she doesn’t want as the only thing she wants to say about herself
