What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
I think this forum could use a BBV thread, so here it is.
Brag: Shot 80 today on my home course (par 72) - I'm a 12 handicap so this is a very good number for me.
Beat: Had a [censored] quadruple bogey on the easiest hole on the course. Stupid sand features.
Variance: Lost $3 thanks to the team game.

No golf for me. Hurricane went though and I'm sure there are a significant amount of trees down around the courses. They are soaked as well. I can see the pond by my house has cut about 10 feet of landing area off of the fairway. Also no power at the clubhouse. Luckily I had power throughout.
Had a 2 days tourney at Cabot next week which is already cancelled.
No fun.
43-42-85. 1 birdie, 1 double bogey. 67.4/120/5,729 yards.
Didn't play great, didn't play bad, just made a lot of bogeys. Birdie at the last. On the positive side, that was about as well as I have ever chipped, had really good feel. Had three or four that could easily have gone in.
101 (51/50) [Par 72 (35/37) 70.0/129 6,200 yards. The 89 I shot here a few weeks ago seems a distant memory. Only good thing I can about today say is at least I didn't make worse than triple on any hole. 44 putts. Play with some old friends in the north woods next week. Can't wait.
+5 through 14. No birdies, 1 double bogey. 70.3/133/6100 yards.
Chased off by some incoming storms, given the deluge that followed it was very much the right call to quit. Chipping was again unusually good, maybe I have found something. Maybe.

So, went to Utah last week for a quick vacation. Stayed and played at Endtrada, just down from Black Desert where the PGA even was taking place. Managed to squeeze in a round on Tuesday. teed off @ 2pm when it was 95 degrees out. Cannot emphasize enough how gorgeous southern Utah is. HIGHLY recommend checking it out. Entrada was nice. Have heard great things about other courses in the area, but will report back if I ever get to play them...Enjoy the pics...
amazing landscape
42-41-83. No birdies, 1 double bogey. 68.9/121/6019 yards.
Other than 3 putting the first from 10 feet for a double, it was a solid day. Nothing was great, but nothing was bad. And it was pretty much ideal fall weather - low 40s to start but no wind, by the turn it was in the 60s, topping out near 70. Lots of color from the turning leaves. Clear blue sky.
44-42-86, No birdies, 5 double bogeys. 70.3/133/6100
More of the same. Just glad to have nice weather and be playing in late October.
If I can address a couple physical issues in the off-season I'm thinking about getting some lessons in the spring, I've kinda lost the plot when it comes to ball striking.

our group enacts a leaf rule on several local courses this time of year
certain landing spots under oak and alder almost always result in futile ball retrieval because you just can't see it
free drop and play on
53-51-104, One par, 6 bogeys. Started with 4 straight triple b's, but calmed down on the back.
(Sorry, no found balls today)

Played the monthly mens club tournament. Weather was warm (75ish), and no wind to start the round. Wind picked up on our back nine, but was fairly tame by the standards of the area. Shot a meh 98. Driver was not 100% (only hit 8/13 fairways) Putter was cold too, but managed a decent amount of points (net) the the event. Highlight was a hole in one by a guy playing in my group (185 downhill playing 170ish). [see hole flyover below] Saw it hit the hill front right, tracked down the green, went over the lip and we saw it disappear ...Great day all around.

Played in the northwoods and shot 104 (52/52) on a course I hadn't played before. If I played it again I'd probably only hit driver on a few holes as there were lots of woods/trees so I lost 6(!!!) balls. 2 were in very play and just seemed to vanish. 44 putts. Greens had just been punched, but that's no excuse. I always seem to get on the green a million miles away from the hole. Got back to town yesterday and immediately went to the chipping and putting green. I have a good swing. I just suck with the blade at the moment. I will not be deterred.

Back to the chipping/putting green today and will be every day until the weather tells me I can't. I play a game where I try to get 6 balls up and down 3 times, giving me a loose idea of how I'd have fared over 18 holes. Paying attention to a score helps keep me interested and focused on what I'm doing. Had a new grip put on my dad's old Ping Z-Blade and giving it a try.
1st time playing in a while, Achilles is some what healing up but after today its pretty tight and a little sore.
Got it around in a bang average fashion which I'm happy with. Swinging it terrible though short game is good and the flat stick is working.
Had 2 birdies today. One on a Par 3 basically semi thin and landed to 6 feet. Then a thin 9 iron running across the ground going to about 3 feet 😃
Good to be out again but think I'll take some time off again and try and heal a bit more up.

98 (+15/+11) with 35 putts. I chipped from the fringe in a few spots where I’d have putted in the past as my chipping has improved with practice, so that lowered my overall putting numbers some. But I was definitely better. I had 5 1-putts, which is a significant improvement. (I bet I had 10 all year). Unfortunately 4 3-whacks, but all were at least from a long distance. Hit it terrible off the tee. Back at it tomorrow for what will likely be the last round of the year.
43-41-84 (par 35-35-70). 1 birdie, 2 double bogeys. 69.4/123/~6000 yards
More of the usual. Super nice day for late October though.

91 today (+10/+9) with 38 (22!/16) putts. Pin on #1 was stupid. Right on a ledge. Balls would get to the cup, stop and roll back. A few were like that. Hit it as good as I have since I started 2 months ago. Unfortunately 3 3-putt bogeys. Weather was incredible for late October. Looks good next weekend as well, so I've got tee times both Saturday and Sunday. My Bushnell Phantom3 will track my score as well as a variety of stats. Quite cool in my view.
Senior Member Guest up in GA this weekend. Me (2 hcp) and partner (0 hcp) had the lowest combined handicap in the tourney. 36 holes net best ball. 6 flights.
Round 1 we shot a gross 64, net 63 and lead by 1 entering final round. Second day not as great, a gross 69, net 67. We tied fir 1st in the flight but lost the scorecard payoff. We got into the shootout as a wild card.
First shootout hole we make an easy par, 2 teams make worse and we move on. Second hole we hit the green and have 20 feet for birdie. Other two put it in the bunker in really tough spots. They both get up and down for par and we go to a chip-off and lose. Finished 5th (there were 2 shootouts that combined at 4 teams left.
First shootout ever, tons of fun.
