2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Presidents are overrated.
Wow a liberal with a conscience. I'm shocked. Not that newspapers should be endorsing candidates anyway, but good for them.
The daughter of the LA Times owner alleged that her family made the decision for the paper not to endorse a presidential candidate because of the U.S. government's support for "genocide" in Gaza.
There will be no difference between the two administrations other than one says its doing something to help the Palestine's which it is not and the other will support Israel 100%
Though many folks in Michigan know Kamala is full of it and will punish her for it
Michigan has a much higher Jewish population than Muslim population.
you realize that is the daughter of the paper's owner who made the decision right?
It would seem like the post itself is evidence
ya I mean she could be talking out of her ass but lol at community notes being the authority here
Its not just Muslims, there's a lot of non-Muslim Arabs and Lebanese that are horrified. I used to play poker with a lot of Christian Palestinians fwiw.
Is there anyone who actually thinks trump would be better for the muslim side of things?
kind of wondering how anyone could be worse than Kamala. objective reality is still worth looking at.
so why was the proposed alternative a side by side nonpartisan comparison between Trump and Kamala? that doesn’t seem like a very strong statement against genocide. and remember she didn’t say her rich daddy said he was opposed to Kamala because of genocide, she said the editorial board was. well there’s a member of the editorial board denying it in the article linked by the community note.

how did palestinians receive the Abraham Accords? what has Trump said about the war and how he would approach it? what has Trump attacked Kamala on, being too harsh on Israel or being too cucked by Israel? hmmm
yes and she invented the reason for the lack of endorsement and a role in the decision which she didn't have.
Say your father sells his company which pollutes a bit (but legally) because he thinks the regulatory landscape will get worse, and you as his son, who had no role in the decision, claim he does because polluting is bad
Is there anyone who actually thinks trump would be better for the muslim side of things?
yes, because muslims isn't a synonim of palestinian. There are a many more muslims AGAINST iran and it's proxies, and Trump is awesome for them, and if everyone is worth the same in your moral model, siding with the Sunnis vs Shias is morally imperative as there are more Sunnis...
Trump already proved he can bring the Sunnis at a table to if not ally with, at least tolerate Israel, and destroy shias all togheter.
I dont interpret her tweets as saying the board was opposed to Gaza and that caused them to not endorse.. I thought it was the board who made the decision to support plausible genocide like a typical craven Western liberal journalist always will and then her family overruled the endorsement for whatever reason that may or may not have been Gaza related. her tweet thread is giving thereasoning from her pov. maybe she had no influence on her dad and he did it for other reasons, we will never know.

like I said, she may have been talking out of her ass but you are never going to know what went on behind closed doors at the family conversation.

“I trust the Editorial Board’s judgment”
Please victor this is cope. Also there’s no genocide happening please keep that bs to the I/P thread and stop polluting the election thread with your blood libel.
ya she trusts them. but genocide is a red line.

There is no genocide happening but a small portion of potential Harris voters believe there is, and they might end up not voting for her because they think she is part of the machine that allows that genocide to happen, so i think the topic is relevant for the elections.
We just need not to discuss if there is a genocide or not here (that's what the I/P thread is for), but if the daughter of a prominent leftwing person in media claims there is and that makes national news that's relevant electoral news
