Luck is the result of preparation
GM Legends. ♠
My poker journey began in 2012. I played freerolls and microlimits on PS. At that time I was 17 years old.
I've tried many disciplines, but played the main distance in 6max holdem.
By 2017 I had reached NL50 and played several million hands of zoom with WR of ~4-5 evbb/100.
Later PokerStars added SD and then GG, I started grinding it.
After playing ~100k hands on GG, in 2021 I won online WSOP $5k ShortDeck.
(total winnings in only SD tours amounted to more than $200k).
PokerCraft on GG:
~90k hands on A2-A10
~13k hands on A50+
A2-A10:

Biggest pot on A300:

Mr. D Sammartino learns from the best by playing with the best. It really is! π
HU lasted about 4 hours on 3 tables A50-A100. Let's look at some big banks:
how would you play AQ with a spade?
Spoiler

flop cbet with 2 bottom pairs in SD will always be a mistake
Spoiler

I use bluffs with low equity hands against a capped range opponent's who doesn't have fulls or straight (he bets the flop even with 2 bottom pairs).
and there is not enough 8x.
Spoiler

specific move from opponent
Spoiler

I think raising paired flops is always a mistake.
unless you're using a subtle exploit.
Spoiler

again, a random ch-raise on a paired flop? KQ plays well ch-calling in a limped pot.
by raising you knock out the worse Kx and Qx that you dominate.
Spoiler

some coolers
Spoiler

GTO hand? If he bluffs 78, 89 and some hearts FDs my call is good.
Spoiler

If you have a hand at the top of your range, don't try to take the whole stack. try to get from the whole range.
Spoiler

my only bluffs are clubs 10J, JQ.
even if he doesn't fold A7, I still have to play like that.
(I'll write more details later)
Spoiler

final spot
Spoiler

Even though I won +90k , this tournament poker veteran from Italy managed to surprise me. It was an amazing matchup.

to be continued. . .
Very nice, short deck highstakes!
I play very few of it nowadays, but remember the daily swings of plus or minus 40 stacks from the old days, when germans still got rakeback on PS.
Good luck, will follow.
Nice Blog, very cool editing!
Best of luck in your SD games.
Have you played SD vs Misha Inner? If yes, how did it go?
I want to learn short deck but don’t really know where to start. Based on my research I am under the impression that short deck may be more profitable than Hold Em at higher stakes due to the edge over the current environment that attracts VIP players. Is this accurate?

if you compare profitability, i don't know. shortdeck is more dynamic.
start with the basics and practice a lot. you need to know the tendencies of your limit and exploit them.
highstakes has a small player pool and you often play against specific people and your history with them.
you need to think only 1 level above your opponent (not 2 or 3), otherwise you will trap yourself.
to play A500 you need 2.5m$+ free funds. while if you have 2.5m$ you don't need poker.
but if you say - "NO GAMBLE NO FUTURE" , I will say 100% agree.

let's continue..
The best poker players in the world, like Jason Koon, aren't lost in the dogma of any one poker religion (GTO, Exploitative-Feel).
They are hybrids with a deep fundamental understanding of the game and adjust to every situation independently.
where he should lose a stack, he loses only the minimum

If you don't have dynamic, don't lvling yourself to call.
just general advice.
I'm used to playing with medium sized bets.
If you don't know what sizing to use, bet 65% of pot so that by river spr is ~1.
Spoiler

bad push from A10s.
we want to continue playing IP against all dro hands, we don't need to knock them out on flop.
we will only knock out hands 77-1010, Jx, which will not be in this sizing.
Spoiler

It's not every day you get to play with the high roller legend
Jordi.
-(
Spoiler

if you are playing against a strong player, bet with strong combinations, dont slowplay.
(just a general advice)
Spoiler

won 2 boards from Jordi!
Spoiler

3 barrel donkbet.
very low frequency action.
i think we should only pick strong hands to call. the worst hand to call here is AJ with ace of clubs.
Spoiler

what bet size would you choose on the turn?
Spoiler

Finally, remember
you don't need to have a complicated technical explanation of why your strategy is truly an absolute good.

Discipline is training your mind not to give a shi't if it's hard, or it hurts, or it sucks. if it needs to get done. it gets done.
time and consistency is a powerful combination.
because the passing of time is already an absolute,
and now its up to you to do a little bit everyday,
just understand doing a little bit is not hard,
but you gotta do it everyday that's the hard part.
and whether you choose to do it or not,
the time will pass anyways.
"it's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently"
just get back on track and be more disciplined. we fall short at times, but we should bounce back at each time.
overthinking is the biggest waste of human energy. trust yourself, make a decision, and gain more experience.
there is no such thing as perfect. you cannot think your way into perfection, just take action.
get back into it, whatever it is; the gym, your art, your business, that book you haven't finished, that project you shelved.
whatever you weren't ready for then; you're ready for now.
literally nothing and no one is and will ever be out of your league. nothing is too good for you.
nobody has the right to make you feel like you are not enough or less than you are, you deserve the world.
just list of my favorite players:
Offline - Phill Hellmuth
Shortdeck - Santazzzua (an example of how to think and live if you are poker player)
Holdem - Stefan11222 (top1 holdem player in the world, fundamental genius)
Just curious why do you think Stefan is best holdem player? Any specific reasons you may list?

as far as I know, in the ru-speaking community this is a fairly obvious fact.
but, for ex., if you think that the best of holdem are Jason Koon or Daniel Cates, they are also pretty strong. I respect your opinion.
what do you think of my post about discipline? do you agree that it is the key to success? π

I mean you said Stefan is fundamental genius but his plays often are more wild and different than fundamental poker
You list famous names but i dont think they are actually close to who are top crushers atm like Linus Malinowski and others those old famous names arenβt as good as you may think anymore
About discipline yes i agree, it can be one of key ingredients to success but only discipline without proper game strategy also canβt magically make you successful
gm guys.

have you checked out the new TwoPlusTwo platform?
the fresh UI feels modern, sleek and Iβm excited to see this evolve into the ultimate poker hub.
btw way you can do such things in a matter of minutes.

people don't pursue a good idea they had b/c "it already exists" when they Google it.
it doesn't matter.
There is no such thing as a unique idea.
It's your execution that's unique that causes your version of the idea to feel different from others.
What's the difference between you and the person working on a similar idea?
The difference is you lol.
You your experiences are unique.
And, the thing you build will always be a reflection of you - it'll have what you think is awesome, what you think is useful.

Programs like solvers are overrated.
Your mental component is underrated.
The ability to read/use timebanks is underrated.
You can gain a huge advantage when playing online by using the right sizes and timings for your ranges.
This only develops with practice, and there is no program that can do it better than a human.
Only your attention.
Manage your attention correctly.
Delete the garbage infoflows that pollute your consciousness.
Quantum physics says reality is influenced by observation. Your attention literally shapes your world.
Thanks for making this thread. Really interesting to read through even though I've never played SD. I rly liked ur post on discipline. I don't think ur 13 years in poker were in vain, you did more than 99.9% ever will.
