HOT sauce....is it possible we don't have a hot sauce thread?

hey guys I tried searching and couldn't find any hot sauce threads, if I just suck at searching (well I def suck at searching) and there is a thread for this already mods please delete this and point me in the right direction.

I was always interested in hot sauce but just had no tolerance but gradually I've gotten able to tolerate more heat (I'm still a low level chili head compared to the real heat chasers but I'm way past the tapatio tabasco cholula siracha and other common brand name sauces) and I absolutely love finding a good new sauce.

I actually want the hot sauce to enhance the meal I'm not some psycho looking to ruin my day and taste nothing but the pain of death etc so really looking for more super delicious and unique sauces to add to my small but delicious collection.

wish I wasn't such a lazy bastard (is there a quicker easier way to post a picture without first hosting it at an image hosting site?) and could post a pic of my collection but my favs are

melinda's garlic habanero sauce

melinda's sweet n spicy japanese BBQ sauce (not spicy at all but oh man so delicious I have to stop myself from drinking it out of the bottle)

melinda's original habanero hot sauce

hot ones the classic hot sauce garlic fresno

zabs st augustine (a louisiana style hot sauce with tiny bit of sweetness it's nice and hot and oh so delicious one of my absolute favs)

adoboloco mynahs brah hot sauce

karma sauce cosmic dumpling far out hot sauce

seed ranch everything but the sushi hot sauce

I know my collection is very small but I love em all and would love to hear some of your favs.

very curious if anyone has tried maria sharpes sauces and how they compare to melindas.

Just ordered Honey Bonnet from Smokin' Ed.

Also ordered: Nurse Shark (jalapeno sauce from a different company), Verde sauce, Chocolate Strawberry, and Goji Berry Pineapple.

Will report back trying all of these .

can't wait to hear you reviews esp on the honey sauce. I got some mikes hot honey and absolutely love it just needs way more heat.
but I'll be honest not sure I'm ready for anything from smoking ed that dude is just immune to heat feels like he would be too embarrassed to sell anything that didn't knock your socks off.

I am seeking coffee-flavoured hot sauce. I have been led to believe this exists. If anyone knows how to get some of it, specifically in or to the UK, i would be very grateful

El Yucateco has one. There are quite a few available if you search. Not sure about picking up locally

But if an aside but are you the wazzcrypto guy?

I guess I'm not in the same league as you guys but these Hatch Valley peppers are special and flavorful to me, espeically on eggs. Happy sinus drainage!

Hatch peppers aren't very hot, imo, but they sure are delicious, especially when fire roasted.

Yeah hatches are incredibly delicious. No need to be hot

yeah... Hatch Chili/salsa doesn't even have a Scoville rating.

Beat: I ordered 2 2-packs of El Yucateco Chipotle to refill my wing sauce supplies, and instead 2 single bottles arrived.
Brag: Can't send it back because it's a food product, so Amazon just refunded me the money and let me keep the two bottles that arrived.
Variance: Using that sweet refund money towards a case of 12 bottles. At least a 1-year supply.

Oh sweet, I found some, it's in the mail! Will report back

Nah, he's a distant cousin, happens all the time

heatonist.com has some coffee based hot sauces (all pretty mild heat 3/10 on their scale so will have a little heat but nothing crazy) but I've been very impressed with every sauce I've gotten from them.

they ship to the UK as far as I know.

I eat this one a lot. It's just some supermarket brand, but I like it.

I had their Carolina Reaper, South Carolina sauce the other day. Can highly recommend. Very fruity and tasty with a nice good heat.

RBK,

Ed's Garlique sauce is kind of hot. My tolerance is down atm....if Melinda's Habanero sauce is a 1/10, Ed's Garlique would be a 5 or 6 out of 10. It's nothing absurd, but there is some real heat, and I had hiccups lol. The pain goes away pretty quickly though.

Not my photo, it’s terrible

Bland and not very hot

Oh, I've tried this before, I think it's fab:

Yea lol, even in the moment I had to laugh at myself. **** flew off the rails FAST. I would agree that all the milk didn’t help with the cramps. Chugging a gallon of milk challenge was basically guaranteed to make the person throw up half way through lol.

The flavor on the ghost pepper sauce was fantastic actually. Slow rising heat so you got to enjoy the full flavor. It didn’t scorch the tongue just generally coated the mouth with spicy.

Had this sitting around so finally tried it. It’s incredib

This was all I had open so I drained the bottle in a couple of weeks. The vinegar is mild enough that the sauce is decent on most foods. Went really well with some spicy popeyes chicken.

I'm excited to get those eds gift sets to start the punishment

Melinda's Fire Roasted Garlic and Habanero: I hadn't had this in a while and needed some sauce while waiting for the Ed's so I scooped a bottle. Its definitely a full bodied sauce which packs a lot of punch and flavor. Unfortunately its a bit vinegar forward in my opinion and I am left wondering how much of its impact is due to that tear inducing chemically tanginess. Its a shame because its a powerhouse sauce otherwise. Massive heat from a habanero sauce that attacks the area of the mouth that causes hiccups mixed with rising flavors of pepper and garlic. The heat dissipates quickly into a lingering burn on the tongue. I could see this causing flavor burnout in palates still trying to up the scovilles.

All in all still a very good sauce. 8.4 from me. I think it could be a 9+ if they found a way to dull down the vinegar so the other aspects could shine through.

Also grabbed a Marie Calendars red Habanero sauce because I am a big fan of the green. I'm not sure if it was the sauce or the gravity of the Melinda's but this really did nothing for me. I will have to revisit it because it just seemed flat and bland. Like, nonexistent almost. 4.1 because it wasn't outright bad but it wasn't good either.

About 30 years ago, I had a hot sauce called Endorphin Rush. Back then, it was the hottest sauce I had ever had. I liked the flavor, but I could do only one tiny drop on the end of a fork tine. My brother went to try it, and instead of the fork tine, he put his thumb to the rim of the bottle, then licked. He yelled at me for an hour, blaming me for the pain he was in 😉 I warned him. I think sauces are much hotter now, but that was enough for me. I go for flavor. My husband loves hot sauces and can handle tons of heat, but again, he likes flavor. He's addicted to Tabasco from his MREs in the Marines.

Here it is (although that price is ridiculous based on my search): https://www.amazon.com/Endorphin-Rush-Be...

Watched the review 😀

One of the guys I work withs brother owns a beef jerky company and his brother is going to send me a bunch of jerky including reaper, scotch bonnet, and "Armageddon" jerky.

They are trying to get the record for hottest jerky in the world

Not hot sauce but had to follow up on this. CarnivoreCandy com. I ate the whole bag of Pineapple Serrano as soon as it arrived. The Mango Habanero was very unique for a Jerky. Sweet and Spicy, Peppered, and Volcanic Jalapeno all delicious. The Ghost Pepper jerky is right on the edge of too hot too enjoy but packs some deep flavor as well. Its so on the edge of too hot that I'm scared to try the Armageddon. Will have to be in the perfect state of mind.

For an interesting mayonnaise based dip with chips, buy the Samyang Buldak Red x2 or x3 Ramen. Add the hot sauce and a bit of greek yoghurt if desired. Mix up. Its got a kick!

oh man if melindas hab sauce is a 1/10 I have no tolerance at all lol.
I assume it's the same rating as the garlic habanero sauce that I have and love but def on my heat scale is a solid 4.5.

I got the cholula chili lime and while the heat is about a 1.5 on my scale the flavor is like a 7+ really delicious and fantastic addition to pizza.

the next sauce I really want to try is neils smoking onion (it's in the 3 spot of this seasons hot ones and everyone raves about it also brian ambs who has a YouTube channel dedicated to hot sauces/hot stuff that I really enjoy absolutely loves it even tho it's pretty mild) but I'm trying to hold off as can't really order it alone and want to finish off at least one of my bottles before I add another 6 lol.

also really want to try more of the hot ones brand sauces as I really am enjoying their classic garlic sauce with the fresno chilies.
want to try their chili maple and los calientes verde sauces.

oh ya I got 2 marie sharps sauces the regular habanero and one of the fruity habanero sauces I think pineapple and neither one really did it for me not a big fan even tho I've heard nothing but great things about them.... however I did only try them on their own off a spoon so I will reserve final judgement til I try it with some food.

good thread

is hot sauce the new craft beer?

Yeah, hot ones opened the flood gates

I have some bottle of hot sauce branded with the band Korn, some random stocking stuffer from last year.

Kind of a weird thing but wife always gets me a couple oddball things, possible re-gifts. i do the same to her so it works out
