This has been going on for over 2 years. I think the first time I told a mod here that I was at the end of my good behavior was over a year ago.

there are in fact special rules around dead baby talk, accusations of antisemitism and personal attacks, and some of them are enforced
That’s right. The rules are it was acceptable for people to repeat made up stories about beheading babies in Israel over and over again, but real babies with their heads blown off in Palestine should not be mentioned.

CN, with all due respect, you have no credibility until you ban him.
His personal attacks and “boundary testing” are unrelenting even just in the snippets that get through my ignore via other people’s quotes.
Regardless of how much you feel sympathetic toward his positions, you have to be willfully blind to not see Victor is cancerous to civil discussion and is unwilling or unable to do better.
Here are my two cents.
Victor is misanthropic. He hates BGP. He hates most posters here. He probably hates himself. He thinks that he loves the oppressed people of the world, but if a Palestinian refugee started posting on 2+2, he probably would end up hating that poster as well. Victor also is a habitual line-stepper. It is almost impossible to have a normal conversation with him because his main goal is to be inflammatory. It is much, much easier to have a substantive discussion with BGP than it is with Victor.
BGP wasn't serious about using his green status to ban Victor.
BGP's endless complaints about how Victor is moderated are beyond ****ing irritating. And because BGP apparently mods some forum here, he must know how irritating his complaining is and not give a ****. If BGP wants to self-permaban, he can do it and he knows how to do it. Any suggestion to the contrary is disingenuous.

Your annoyance at seeing some responses to someone you have on ignore does not and should not take precedence over other people's right to chat with him.

I don't think he should be banned I just think posters who are annoyed by him should stick him on ignore even if he whinges about them. I don't think his quoted posts are a major issue those who have him on ignore should simply scroll past such things.
Victor's dead baby jokes are in bad form and will cease. IF ! I were to ever open the I/P thread and see anyone post a dead baby joke.... I would perm.
BGP is just as argumentative and should (as others have suggested) use the friggin scroll wheel. He started out as a voice of clarity and reason in the I/P thread and I have told him that exactly...... but has a tough time scrolling past Victor. I prefer he chooses a different mountain to die on.
CN is the real deal. But she has an impossible "job" of regulating discussion in an impossible thread. No one should be put through the wringer for doing such an impossible job. TRY POSTING BETTER CONTENT!
