As an aside the way the sharks are now circling for Rogan, I find despicable but also template.
I think it is exactly why many on the right have learned you never apologize as that leads to a feeding frenzy, on the left to try and end you. It is what they call the left eating their own, and yes, Joe Rogan is a lefty even if you believe he is left who says wrong things and lacks polish.
In the very segment I am watching on CNN as i type this Jim Costa keeps saying "Joe Rogen was caught repeatedly saying the 'N-Word' when Jim is doing the same thing. Rogen just thought hiding behind saying the 'N-Word' instead of saying the actual word was not productive or silly.
So Costa says 'that guy just the said N-word' and every one says, that is fine to say.
Rogan says 'That guy just said n*&^er' and they say that is wrong to say and worse they cut the reply of that quote so tight you only hear the word said without context so you will assume he was using it despairingly when he was not.
And I am not saying Rogan has never, in all his years of making long form public statements said anything that does not sound off or bad as he has and has admitted it. But anyone who has listened to much of his comment and context over the years would never assume he was anything but a lefty. this idea of him being a righty only really took root as he was in opposition to much of the science around covid and some people believe being so then requires you be put on sides.
Not all immigration is equal, by far, even in terms of how much it can contribute to pay for your SS (which btw is just delaying the problem: their contribution will generate a claim in their favour later on, and who is going to pay that?)
The republican party has made an effort to recruit uneducated white dumb dude bros. Other than religious nutters, it's one of their biggest targets and it's largely happened pro Trump. Even people like Meygyn Kelly were complaining about how it might be turning off larger persuadable groups like moderate suburban women.

If that was the case the dems would be pushing for better immigration laws wrt working visas and so on (which is whay Bill Gates and many others have been asking for like 20+ years). They don't, even the border bill didn't even attempt to fix that.
They instead extend stay in the USA to people that are never filtered for their participation in the US economy in any way, and they send them to areas of the country which are purple more often than random.
Have you seen silicone valley lately? Don't think there is a big shortage of H-1B's being handed out.
Also a lot of big companies would rather outsource to those skilled workers in their home country and pay a local salary.
In the meantime I've been waiting 20min to be seated for breakfast and need someone to bus the table so I can get my vegan scramble.

Like, I can totally admit and accept that a bunch of immigrants flooding into a mainly stagnant and settled economy and society is potentially a bad thing, but America relies on constant expansionism to grow GDP to grow the reach of the dollar and to continue pressing as the worlds global super power.
There is essentially no measurable downside to opening the floodgates here that we have observed

You need H-1B equivalents for nurses, hospitality workers, agricultural workers and so on. Not capped by country, the filter should be on the people quality / match with the american economy needs.
Democrats are not even tabling sensible plans to let fast food chains import tens of thousands of legal immigrant to fill positions that need to be filled. they prolong the illegal stay of people with random, unknown or non-existent skill set and work attitude, which can't be sent away if they end up being bad workers

I can only speak from an American pov where these immigrants are largely from Latin America and there is no way I'm going to question their work ethic. The vast majority are coming to work as many jobs as they can and better their lives and don't have the luxury of waiting for a Congress working in underwater man speed while fighting over identity politics to build them a pathway.
Maybe Trump wins today and he can show us what he has. Wasn't overly impressed with his efficiency last time around but it was his 1st time.
