Vice-President Kamala Harris
Probably requires her own thread at this moment, lock/delete etc if someone else wins the nom
They shouldn't be accusing Trump of lying about hurricane deaths when the real liars are the harris/byden regime who through their controlled fake MSM swept the real death toll numbers of the recent hurricanes right under the rug which is why we never hear about it anymore (it's much higher than they originally suggested. It's in the several thousands not a couple hundred), but when we had the pandemic every death was blasted on the TV screen 24 hours a day 7 days a week for months.
You didn't enjoy the Covid death ticker 24/7?
Wow , source NYT, and an ABC journalist, not "MAGA"
The democrats plan was to have a super quick primary but Biden endorsed Harris and that forced their hands, she wasn't necessarily the candidate democrat leaders wanted
Not having a primary was a Major fk up
It is a bit ironic that the party arguing Trump had to be defeated to save democracy was at least partially undone by their failure to follow a democratic process.

Parties don't run primaries, states do. It would have been a logistical nightmare to try and have one.
Hypothetical: instead of dropping out when he did, Biden waits until, say mid-late September. Uses some plausible sounding excuse like terminal cancer diagnosis or something. Does Harris as his replacement still enjoy the 6-week or whatever it was surge in popularity that she did before the excitement waned, and if so, does it translate to election victory (or better performance, at least)?

Interesting hypothetical, maybe yes.

Sounds like a dishonest strategy.
Plus Kamila’s “surge” at the very end turned out to be a lie. The initial surge may have been a lie as well, so not sure that would have worked.

I'm not claiming that it's honest, I'm asking if it would have worked. Personally, I would have no problems using any strategy to beat someone like Trump as long as it's legal. It's not like the man is a bastion of integrity.
Not sure I understand what you mean by the surge being a lie?

I don't think it was a lie. I think if you follow the decreasing % of undecided, after Harris was the pick it dropped, favouring Harris, but it was higher than closer to the end.
It's just that those late-undecided broke very very favourably for Trump (as i predicted would have happened with rococo having doubts about that).
What i didn't predict was so many minorities voting for Trump which is why i thought it was much closer.
Burning thru MORE THAN one billion dollars and still loosing in a landslide is so much win!!!

The money goes to the media. It's not exactly burning it it's more like a bribe. The same reason why pharmaceutical companies spend so much on ads for obscure drugs with names no one is going to remember.

The Ds superdelegates hold too much sway. The left is the controlled party in this country. The right(in addition to fundamentally being in line with the interests of the ultra-wealthy) can kinda push out as far as it wants with little to stop it but there's a pretty solid wall to the left outside of a big outlier. A hardcore tax the rich etc lefty would need to be getting massive support to overcome it at least as I understand it.

Doesn't matter, she just wasn't a good candidate. Though no doubt she'll go on to insanely high remuneration in various nonsense 'jobs', because that's kind of the game.
Thread change soon to Ex VP

Not sure what that has to do with my hypothetical. I wasn't suggesting it was a practical option for what dems could have done differently if that's what you think. Just idly pondering.

I mean it turned out not to be a close race, swing voters didn't like Harris and she would presumably have lost anyway. Imagining a hypothetical window where she could have won is probably just spitting into the wind.
