Right, I’m suggesting that they will attempt a broad interpretation of those things when they want to and very narrow when they don’t. Obviously anything trans related to kids will fit their definition but probably not gross child beauty pageants. Proud boys stuff interpreted as charitably as possible and BLM, climate protestors, etc as domestic terrorism.

Based on the curent tally and the remaining % votes to be counted and their current distribution it's looking like perennial election denier Kari Lake (R) is going to lose by a very small margin. She just lost her lawsuit attempt to overturn her 2022 loss. This new loss is going to drive her even more insane, if that's even possible.

Yes very good event if she loses. Senate 53-47 though can rubberstamp anything anyway even if Collins and Murkowski disagree and that's bad, would have been a lot better to have 51-49.
If it does advocate for pedophilia in legal ways obviously yes, how is it even controversial? it's free speech only if speech you are disgusted by is allowed.

As an advertiser I’m not going to want to advertise on a platform that promotes nazism, pedophilia, white supremacy, etc.
I think this is an utterly deranged position to take that people don’t have the right to moderate their platforms. It’s utterly stupid.

I have a problem with horrendous ideas existing among the population (problem in the sense that the world would be better if they didn't believe that).
But no i don't have a problem with horrendous ideas circulating once they exist, as i think that censorship (unless it's coupled with state enforcement at a very high level) doesn't fix the problem (the existence of those ideas among the population).
Knowing what your "ideological enemies" think, how they discuss, how they do "marketing" and so on is also relevant to beat them. The right is winning the cultural war thanks to people like Liboftiktok who simply circulate the bad ideas and the bad takes of their cultural enemies.
Not censoring isn't promotion btw. And no one is defending the claim that "people don't have a right to moderate their platforms". The claim is "if you want to moderate your platform then you are civilly liable for the content that you choose explicitly not to moderate because doing that *becomes a choice* and you become the speaker".

You know what's good about the political process? that you craft a basic action plan with a clear intent and direction and then you deal with the details and technicalities with the proper focus on stuff like this.
Btw the deboosting can be banned with no problems. As for the ad placement, that's unrelated to what we are discussing, and i even pointed out that demonetization efforts would probably stay untouched.
As for the "normal moderation" of removing spam and whatnot, depending on the circumstances you could write the rule allowing for that to keep happening.
The important idea to put into the rules is that systemically big companies that basically platform our digital lives because of economies of scale and "natural monopoly" mechanisms should not be allowed to target ideas they dislike as much as they did in the past without repercussions.
And that's true even if there are ideas that the vast majority of the population is disgusted by (but are protected speech under the 1a), because there is no way to limit the allowed censorship to those only (and in any case it's not even obvious censoring that is useful for society), without allowing big tech to coalesce in favor of the left (or the right in the future, remember the world can change) abusing their dominant positions toward the outcome of manipulating society conversation and civil life basically.
