Certainly entitled to your opinion. Seen no one say otherwise.
IMO, the reason the floor needs to be called is not everyone knows the procedure (as seen ITT even), if any player gets upset or has questions that is ALWAYS a floor responsibility (don't want to ever make the dealer be the bad guy) and also for tracking dealer performance (a rare premature card is no big deal but we don't know it is rare and neither will floor if not called, will help floor spot the dealer(s) who need training or more.)
But those are just my opinions why it isn't silly and you are welcome to your opinions as well.
