3rd reason: IU is a very cool story. If there's ever a time to not mind losing it's now.
This. The biggest game of the year for IU was today. Beat Michigan and you're in. The Ohio State game is whatev. Thinking otherwise is being trapped into old thinking. Times are different now.
But but what about IU winning the Big Ten Championship!?!? Doesn't that make the Ohio State game meaningful. Not really. It's playoffs or bust now. IU is in. That's all that matters. Getting a bye only matters for true national title contenders like Ohio State. So the IU game is important from OSUs perspective or to OSU haters like me.

Yea I'm assuming IU has 100% equity vs Purdue which obviously isn't true but close enough. I'm also assuming they screw over a 10-2 IU team but that counterfactual will be irrelevant.
