I imagine it would have paid good money to bet on none of Australia, England and India making the Women’s T20 World Cup final.

been trying to figure this out, and all i'm comfortable saying is that i'm pretty sure the true odds would be somewhere between 100/1 and 10,000/1

high end of that seems absurd, but its very likely that one of the two semis involves two of those teams thus guaranteeing a finalist, and even on the rare occasion where that doesn't happen and only two or even one of the three makes it into the semis, its still a very large fave to occur

For anyone wondering, look top left

No surprise

Congrats Kerrwi’s 😀

Their form leading up to the WC: LLLLLLLLLL

I knew Rabada was good, but fastest to 300 wickets if measuring by balls bowled?
Fair play.

India currently 7/105, have they lost all motivation for Test cricket? I need to work through the permutations for the WTC Final.

And what’s up with Tim Southee? He needs to be retired. Past 18 months, 10 Tests, 17/765 @ 51. On 385 wickets, could take him until 2026 to get to 400.

Incredible result for NZ. Winning in India is seriously impressive.

NZ still a chance to make the WTC Final, a clean sweep against India would go a long way towards that.

I noticed a fan comment on Cricinfo after NZ had won: "Where are the people who said Santner is not a red-ball cricketer? Not many around now."

So I thought I would take a look at some stats. Of the four touring spin bowlers to take 12WM in India, only Patel has taken 5WI outside of India, while none have taken 4WI at home.

Ajaz Patel
14/225 - BBM in India (@Wankhede)
8/111 - next BBM (@Bangladesh)
0/21 - BBM at home

Mitchell Santner
13/157 - BBM in India (@Pune)
6/93 - next BBM (@Mt Manganui, NZ)

Steve O'Keefe
12/70 - BBM in India (@Pune)
4/103 - next BBM (@Sydney)

Jason Krejza
12/358 - BBM in India (@Nagpur)
1/204 - BBM at home (his only other Test)

It doesn't seem likely that this test between India and New Zealand will last the five days.

Wow, surely that did not just happen! Amazing scenes in India. The WTC is getting interesting. Congrats NZ, phenomenal series whitewash.

Extremely impressive win from NZ. One of the greatest away test performances

They didn't just win, they whitewashed India 3-0. No one could predict such a result at the start of the series.

phil salt single handedly won some county game i had a bet on years and years ago and i've loved him ever since. having someone who can go full power from ball one is so huge

not many i'd swap for him

He has improved his batting a lot in the last couple of years.

Yeah, late post but this is gold, greatest achievement in our history basically, amazing effort. Not many teams beat India at home and no team has ever done the clean sweep. Still beaming from it haha

Just want to say the test match series is coming up and it is going to be close - advantage to us in the bowling but advantage to India in the batting. Drawn series at least gets us to the final in England! Looking forward to us making it with the last hurrah it will be for our quartet of bowlers (greatest 4 bowlers I think the world has ever seen - just to add with having a spinner. Of course WI perhaps had the best 4 fast bowlers in the world with Roberts, Garner, Marshall and Holding).

This will be just the 9th Test series in Australia of 5+ matches not involving England or the West Indies.
4 South Africa, 4* India, 1 Pakistan

Australia’s record in those series is 6W 2D.

217 runs and 17 wickets on the first day, could be done by tomorrow

Im loving this new era where bat vs ball is a more even contest, in most games.

We are seeing which batters can handle all different conditions, who can battle and adapt

I mean that is what you get for picking a middle order batsman to open - McSweeney is decent but this is not India. Renshaw to come in for the next test - huge pressure on Smith and Marnus to hold their spots if they don't perform in Adelaide as McSweeney is breathing down their neck. Also, if not Renshaw just play Marcus Harris ffs - I think I have been going on about this for awhile but he keeps scoring runs for Victoria.

Also, just a side note further, booked my first tickets to see a Boxing day test match 😃

I love to see Australia going through what England went through when Strauss retired. Tried everyone with a pulse in first class cricket, moved our best batsman up to open for some reason, probably ruined a few promising careers with all the chaos.

Aussies were arrogant not playing their batsmen much in the Shield. They’ve had a long break from 1st class cricket

We can't have a team with McSweeney, Smith and Marnus in it - they are all the same player. At least one of them has to go.

104 all out (51.2)
12-3 (4.2)
150 all out (49.4)
487-6 dec (134.3)

Australia require 522 runs to win with 7 wickets remaining

lol

I for one am greatly enjoying this performance from Australia
