Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

Wasn't easy this time. R's were ready for it and had protection in place and the covid rules weren't in place making it harder. Almost "too big to rig" 😀 What happened to Bidens extra 15M votes? Those folks just sit it out this time? Or was it all bullshit?

Ah ok .
So the 2020 election was stolen .
Ok I got it .
Thx ….

Damn , I feel bad for foxnews , not able to win back their 700 millions diffamation law suit lost .
Hopefully trump will help them get their money back and getting it from the dismantling of the deep state .

Let us all pray for it .

We were talking about US and freedom disappeared from there and by a big margin .
So you saying freedom elsewhere around the world is what ?
Almost inexistant ?

Many country are right wing and have lower growth in gdp.

You ever heard about China ?
Having many time exceed 10% gdp per year ?
Are Chinese right wing ?
Wow that’s news for me , communism is a right wing political system …

Oh jeez freedom is much lower in the USA than it was yet it decreased even more elsewhere, is it hard to comprehend?

The USA didn't even have a federal income tax back in the day. Normal people had no encounters with federal employees and federal rules in any aspect of their day to day life back in the day.

There was no EPA, no FBI, no CIA, no IRS.

No country today anymore is rightwing in the sense of all in on low-regulation, low-tax capitalism like Australia or the USA were in 1875.

China is cooking the books btw

Ok so you go that far back huh ?
So you believe people in early 1900 had a better life and more freedom then today with a better economy too ?

I wonder why WW1 and ww2 happened if the left since then been so more stronger today then it was back then and yet today no world war ….compare when countries were more « free » and more to the right then today …

Ps: I will tell u a secret , there isn’t much any workers today that would accept 1875 working conditions …

Lol one of the author of the books you cite is against nuclear , good sources you got.

It is my position that if you claim something is a disaster for society it has to drastically reduce our quality of life and GDP is the best proxy we have for it yes.

Drastically, otherwise you can't even start describing that as a huge problem.

Like you know, drastic as a lockdown that causes -10% of GDP.

Can you even judge it like that? GDP usually fluctuates, right? Seems pretty hard to say "well, it went up 2% but if it weren't for x it might have gone up 12%, or it went down 2% but if it weren't for y it might have gone up 8% or whatever".

You're acting like being against nuclear is tantamount to being a conspiracy theorist. I'm sure he's got his reasons, I wouldn't discard someone's opinion just because they're against nuclear. If you are going to make your hypocrisy argument then it's irrelevant. He might be a smoker and a lead petrol fan too, the book is not about climate change specifically, it's about how the practice of buying so-called experts to lie and spread doubt to the public about scientifically accepted ideas work, with climate change, smoking and leaded petrol being used as case studies IIRC. Been a while since I read it.

I’m not sure about it but maybe you could tell us how Tchernobyl doing in gdp term today with nuclear power ?

I believe it’s pretty low …

Or maybe what I heard was fake news and conspiracy ….

Was just asking a question. What happened to Bidens extra 15M votes? Just decide to sit this one out? Or is it just possible that ultra liberal covid voting rules allowed for some hijinx? Maybe the new adminstration can look into it?

Yes being against nuclear is one of the worst imaginable positions to defend ESPECIALLY if you think CO2 emissions are a problem for the world.

If the impact on GDP of climate change is hard to measure imagine claiming that only the bad weather events increase in frequency and intensity with a straight face

It's not 15m extra votes. It's far less.

Wait till they end counting all it should be around 5-6m less votes.

A small bit stayed at home (approx 1-2m) the rest went to trump.

Independents switched to Trump vs Harris , is that surprising? Biden was seen as much more moderate. Nothing strange there.

It was in red states back then right where the rigging occurred ?
Now you say blue states decided not to rigged it to allow trump to come back in power ?

What happens in 2018 , what happened in 2022 ?
Why not red wave then ? What happened to trump voters ?
Were they rigged too ?

Eh? Do you think extra sunny days make up for hurricanes and floods or something?

by Luciom k

Lol

And for adding .
Let’s put 1000 nuclear plants around all the western countries .
Will you be able to assure us no other crazy bad weather events, human errors or terrorism ( how great those new targets could be for them …) or war incident could not happened anymore to recreate some pretty bad consequences ?

This has been lots of fun! Now I remember why I only venture into this godawful forum once every 4 years to remind me what an absulute cesspool it is. See you guys in 4 years for Vance vs. Ocasia-Cortez. Should be hilarious 😀

I think warmer winters making Europe collectively save tens of billions in heating fuels per year do make up for a lot of floods yes.

Not that I accept any flood is happening because of one Celsius warmer climate or is more severe because of it btw.

But even if it was you could only count a fraction of the event as climate caused (only the increase, as floods happen anyway), while the whole saving for heating in winter as to be accounted for, and it's an insane, huge, out of proportion benefit which you guys try to forget every time.

Good weather days increasing matter as well but less than the life changing reduction in heating needs for cold countries

Rubio is Trump's pick for Secretary of State. I guess Laura Loomer said no.

Later, boyo. Perhaps use some of Trump's policies that help the little guy and move to Glencoe or Hinsdale.

Damn, I was hoping MTG would get it.

She's already been assigned as Trump's Chief Fluffer. He likes 'em butch.

Keep him in power? This is it. 4 and out. Get it done and pass it off. He's not worried about reelection. He really is about MAGA. He has the will and desire to make this country better instead of enriching lobbiests and catering to the "deep state".

by Montrealcorp k

And why maga states aren’t doing it for their constituents and waits for the federal to do anything about it ?

You believe all those poor people was due to the federal government?

by mrbaseball k

None of what you just posted makes any sense? Can Maga states close the border? Can Maga states stop excesive governement spending? Can Maga states stop the federal blob of bureaocracy pushing us into WWIII? I wish they could but unfortunately I live is a deep blue hellhole where crime runs rampant.

I believe trump won’t help much the middle class at all .
And my main point is , if democrat were so bad , the reason I specify red states that are doing badly , why only them are doing badly and not all states , blue included if democrats policies are so bad on the federal level ?

It’s not the federal the problem , it’s their own states .

And many maga states sucks for a very long time , despite being a republican or democrat in the president seat , including trump first term that didn’t do better then Obama and ending up doing a higher deficit then Obama….

But hey I hope I’m wrong !
If trump is great , Canada will benefit from it indirectly so good luck to him .

Where did you get the 15 million number?

Internet probably

Biden's midnite ballot dump.

You can decide to live in your bubble , it’s a choice of yours and it’s fine .
But the reality of you living on an entire planet , thinking neighbors and other crisis on this planet wont affect you , your life eventually will at some point be hit you in the face by the reality of it that yeah , what’s happening elsewhere will matter to you someday .

I’m pretty sure many countries outside Europe though Hitler as irrelevant and looked what happened eventually ?
World crisis is a world crisis , despite what you may think u will benefit from it or not locally, eventually you will be catch up by it and suffer the consequences because we all actually live on the same planet .
