Water cooler chatter is ****ing insufferable today.

The 1 concern i have about living in an apartment almost happened today.

Neighbors above me (already don't like them as thry are so loud, but I know that is part of apt living) had the smoke detector start going off. As I was getting ready to call it in, they pulled in, rushed upstairs, and managed to get it under control. I went up to see if I could help, and was told "no problem, just left some good on the stove and it caught fire". It was very smoky and took them a bit to get the smoke detector to stop. Fire department showed up shortly after but cleared it pretty quickly, so I guess they caught it early.

But, it never should have happened!! If you don't already know this, you never leave your home with food on the stove or in the oven!!!

Having to move and replace my stuff because of someone else's screwup is my biggest concern.

I hate people. That's all.

I worry about that from time to time. But honestly, insurance covers the $$$ part and it would be weirdly nice to have a forced reset.

I’m pretty minimalist, though. If I was someone like MSchu with a zillion toys, I’d probably be freaking out about living in an apartment.

My biggest concern in these anxious times is a stray bullet entering my place. I’d be pretty annoyed to wake up dead.

I would have to live on the top floor. No way my grumpy ass could handle listening to people stomp around above me nowadays.

Had water come down a vent twice. Management checked on it, and it was due to kids playing around. Same apartment as the one where the fire was today. Ugh.

I'm fortunate that I live in a place that has reasonable safeguards and so far, no major issues that would give me reason to fear a bullet randomly entering my apt.

I do have some things that can't be replaced, as well as items that would be a pain to replace. Not to mention the process of moving and replacing everything. One day, I may have a house again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I had that option but carrying groceries up 2 flights of stairs sounds like too much work. Lol

Plus I'd hate to be the guy with a dog and cat that makes too much noise for someone below me. They ran through my apt occasionally, playing and chasing each other.

I made the trip to the Dover DMV to secure a coveted "5 digit tag".

There were tents. Food, good vibes. Kind of reminded me of a phish show parking lot.

This permits me to then purchase a "black and white" tag. Which will match my truck nicely.

I hope everyone's day was as fruitful as mine.
