Because people from Connecticut don't know what a truck looks like. It also confuses them we don't have to plug it in when we get home.

LOL
They must feel as if they are in King Arthur's Court.

My pot roast ain't gonna cook itself while I'm at church. 😃

Seriously, save your pennies and get a house. It's easier to be a hermit that way. Glad crises was averted.

Working on it. I've done it before. Just isn't easy in a big city on 1 income. Trust me, I much prefer owning a house.

I think those green Colorado plates are the nut low

Is this because primary green with white letters is ugly or is because people are trying to mimic the look of the pre 1999 plates and that makes them look like losers?

When I moved back here I wanted to reuse my dad's plates from the 70's but the DMV said nope so now I have the white plates with the green lettering.

What does suck is the all black, blue or red plates. CO has the best looking license plate and the old green with white letters is the best example. The current white with green letters is good but not as good.

I guess it's because the standard dark green color Colorado uses just doesn't go well with most cars color schemes. They look fine on a white car, but when you get into the darker colors, I don't like it because it doesn't match. Wearing red pants with a green shirt is fine for Christmas, but not a good every day look.

However. These are bad ass.

So it just allows you to get a good color? No black plates where I live and it sucks.

Texas inverted plate GOAT for the non-standard plates.

Yes, so any self respecting "black and white" license plates have 5 or less digits.

The governor gets #1 no matter what. I think 1-6 are reserved and #6 is the first publicly available number.

Here are some of the restrictions:

Burglar alarm went off at 2am. That was lots of fun. It’s a first for me hearing it from a deep sleep.

I’m surprised how fast I sprang into action. A little proud. I did miss the call from the alarm company while clearing the house though, so a full law enforcement response was deployed.

Still don’t know what happened. It says the front door sensor but that door was still locked and shut. For a brief moment, I thought, ****, they came in and locked the boor behind them.

5 minutes after the cops left, special lady friend is in a deep sleep once again. What the hell? I still haven’t slept.

See, the great thing about having nothing worth stealing is I don't need to concern myself with alarms.

If anybody broke into my house, they'd probably go back to their truck and bring me stuff.

Things that you own, end up owning you... one philosophy I personally struggle to embrace but is none the less, true.

I'm probably a bit over the line in decluttering (compared to most Americans, anyway) after going through the house I grew up in when my mom died.

To be fair, she was born in 1935, and their family had no money, so that combined with the Depression made saving things/reusing/etc really necessary. Just never got out of that.

I mean, it's not as if the house was wall-to-wall and hard to navigate like a true hoarder. Just too much crap that no, nobody wants.

For most of history your stuff was your wealth. Now, for most people, your stuff is just stuff.

That's a good point. My parents' generation was of the former, I'm of the latter.

So 42069 is allowed? Nice.

Also this whole thing is pretty lol. No one else cares about getting a low license plate number.

I wasn't exactly concerned with my collectible Elvis plates, that may or may not go up in value - but rather - someone may have entered my house while I was sleeping.

do you have spiders? perhaps it was a tarantula

How many digits can DE plates go up to? Also, do they offer some special characters, as some states do?

Vintage plates. Just random luck that I got AHO.

Aho in the Kiowa language has a distinctly separate meaning from the ahole memes
curious which is your interpretation?

meanwhile, has anyone else ever watched an episode of bumper stumpers?

My Kiowa language is limited to water skiing on Lake Kiowa in Gainesville TX.

Scared to look it up but sounds like it could be a friendly greeting to a pretty white girl?

How on earth could you end up on Lake Kiowa from where you live? I had an aunt who lived at Lake Kiowa and I misspent a few of my high school years in Gainesville.

My mom and dad's best friends retired and built a house there and we went to visit a couple of times a year. They were on the water and had a boat. I was in high school as well at the time. Fun times.

One of the ways I amuse myself while driving are reading vanity plates. Many are amusing and some are simply tough (or impossible) to decipher. Today I saw a pickup with a Mississippi plate that I am completely dumbfounded as to how it got past the MS DMV censors

That one must be tough for a lot of folks around here to swallow when they see it.

You should probably search out old episodes of Bumper Stumpers on YouTube, though perhaps not while driving.

So Phil hates him, what's the big deal?

Thought I was in the "Things that shouldn't piss you off..." thread for some reason when I read Tom's post. Was having trouble understanding why that upset him.

Oh wait, not in there. Got it.

Phil rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

eta: Great story on that jersey, of course!
