New England General Discussion - Poker Room List in OP
This thread will be for general discussion among people who associate with Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, MA/NH card rooms, and
How does the action in new england compare to other parts of the country? I've only played in CT, MA, and NH. I've heard the action in places like florida and texas is much splashier.
i've noticed almost no difference from place to place - a few places are tighter or splashier but has more to do with table draw and whether they allow for bomb pots and matching stacks more than the innate nature of the average rec - which will always be upon a spectrum of bad - but generally making bigger mistakes in games that have matching stacks, straddles, bomb pots, etc
Can only speak to 1/2, but IME have found weekend MGM Springfield games were comparable in looseness/splashiness to smaller-room 1/2 and 1/3 games in Fort Lauderdale/Miami
No limit action has been down considerably in TX and FL since their post covid heyday and have been snuffed out by lots of Euro and South American pros. NE action in NLH is quite good in comparison, albeit lower stakes.

In terms of FL, I believe that at Hard Rock, but I can't recall seeing a single Euro or South American pro at any of the smaller FTL/MIA rooms - there were a few early/mid 20's American regs, but most didn't strike me as crushers
^youre 100%. Correct it’s not uncommon to get 4 or 5 euro/ South American pros at each 2/5 game. Hard rock holly is overrated for 2/5 because of this. Tampa/jax/bonita>hollywood not close either
Also boston encore 2/5 is amazing even with bad rake those games are way better than pro fest in Hollywood 2/5
Heard someone from DR got cough cheating in the Manchester Revo. Something about sleeving cards for PLO bomb pots
Hi-Lo poker games have been going great at Mohegan Sun lately.
The current very successful schedule is as follows:
Tuesday 😊ne two PLO high low eight or BETTER. Starts around 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday : 8:16 OE starts at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
The first and third Sunday of every month 8:16 HORSE. starting around 11:00 a.m.
This month Sunday dates will be February 2nd and 16th.
The Nash Casino opening March 5th in Nashua, NH with 19 tables
Lilac Club Casino opening March 14th in Rochester, NH with 12 tables
I'm wondering if the Dover-Somersworth-Rochester metro region can support two cardrooms?

It doesn't look like much runs in Dover, but I've heard from others that a lot of that is on management - it used to be much busier.
I imagine Lilac is looking to capture those disaffected former Dover players, plus new ones. We'll have to wait and see.
If someone does play at The Nash on the 5th, a trip report would be appreciated. FWIW, The Nash is using Bravo, not Poker Atlas,
rooms opening in NH 4 years after poker effectively died there is quite something

The Brook is the worst it’s about the tightest room you can play at.
Looks like The Nash did a soft open tonight, Atlas shows a few games running. Official opening is 11am tomorrow.
p.s. If I put together an updated room listing will mods edit it in to the first post? Current list is years out of date.
Or is it worth splitting the NH rooms in to their own thread and leaving this relic behind?
An update makes lots of sense. I was trying to look up rake the other day. But given the spotty, spurty nature of traffic I don’t think individual threads are needed.
If you happen to know what the rake and promo drop is?

you can try, but as far as I know there are no active mods here in V&C currently. I think one or two others (some posting in this thread) have volunteered but nothing seemed to have changed yet.

There is a comment on that video that states the rake/promo drop is up to $11. I’m assuming is $8+$3.
Insane.
What are the regs about house maintaining the promo fund? Do they take an admin fee? how much?
Taking $4 promo, they should be having significant promos. Though I am not personally a promo chaser
yah seems insane but its kinda how this has been going in New England.
shiny and new will draw crowds for a bit but I'm not sure they will have the ability to justify that rake longer term. i found encore to be bearable cause so much new money is coming onto the table but Nashua area is different beast than Boston.
i'm sure the answers to your question Fore, are not on the players side.
