The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
One of the worst policies that increased illegal border crossings was when Trudeau removed the requirement to get a visa to travel from Mexico to Canada .
This has glimmers of truth, but it is false today. As of february of this year, you need a visa to go from mexico to canada. Prior to that it wasn't without requirements, it was just you needed a travel authorization as opposed to a temporary visa. And that policy was all in place through the old NAFTA renegotiations from the prior trump administration.

Sadly your statement has glimmers of falsehood. I did post earlier that Trudeau reimposed the policy but he was also the one that removed it in 2016. It was under pressure from a true leader Pierre (axe The Tax ) Poilievre that called on Trudeau to bring it back
"Better immigration policies" have nothing to do with a secure border. Immigration policies determine who you allow into the country through the immigration process. Immigration policy in no way impacts, or is related to, how secure a country's border is, or is not. Are you just so stumped on what "secure the border" means or entails that you're changing the subject? Because that's what bringing up immigration policy is - changing to a completely different subject.
19,000 encounters at the border and over 350 on USA's terror watch list in the last year, way more encounters at the northern border for terror watch list suspects than the southern border. How'd they get here, swim?
LOL, WTF is this? Do you just repeat all the nonsense he says without thinking, or do you actually believe this? If it's the latter, what are you basing that on? I've never seen anything that indicates such a thing; every source I've seen indicates the opposite.
Record number of votes, all 50 states shifting more Republican from Democrat, record votes for an incumbent President, record setting views on podcasts, etc.

Reality folks wanted
A strong economy
A strong border
Protection of Children and women from the woke agenda
Not sure Trump fixes the economy per say

You're sort of all over the place here. When you mention the "19,000 encounters", that sounds like the figure that was given by US officials on the Quebec border alone; the number from the entire country that I'm surprised you didn't use is "nearly 200,000".
Not sure where the 350 figure is coming from. Perhaps that's from a different report, and maybe I'm wrong on where you're getting the 19,000 from. Either way, this doesn't seem to have a lot to do with securing our border in the traditional sense of providing more security to prevent illegal entry, as that's talking about people who have entered the US from Canada. Is there an issue with screening immigrants? Quite possibly. Is that what people mean when they say we need to "secure our border"? I don't know, which is the problem with discussing the issue - there are a lot of vague references without much in the way of specifics of what that means to them.
Record number of votes, all 50 states shifting more Republican from Democrat, record votes for an incumbent President, record setting views on podcasts, etc.
LOL, you really do just parrot all his talking points, don't you? "Record number of votes" - you mean, aside from the record Joe Biden set last election that Trump failed to pass this time? Not that I'd be foolish enough to suggest that makes Joe Biden the "most popular president in history" either, as that would be dumb based on that metric. Biden had far more than twice the votes of JFK - must be more than twice as popular, amirite? 🙄 "record votes for an incumbent President" - see above. "record setting views on podcasts" - LOL. "all 50 states shifting more Republican from Democrat" - well, at least that one is a metric of popularity of some kind, not just a reflection of higher population and turnout. How much of it is attributable to Trump, how much to the Republicans, dislike of Biden or Harris, dislike of Democrats? No idea. Is it unprecedented? I'm not sure, but that seems unlikely when one considers landslide results like those of Reagan or FDR, and many others.
Trump achieved a really good election result. But of course he's never happy to just let it go at that, he has a constant need to "Trump it up" to the biggest degree as he can, and his sycophants are happy to amplify it. It can't just be a big win, it has to be the biggest win ever. I just ignore most of it now, it's hardly worthy of notice any more - it's just kind of sad when others feel the need to parrot the nonsense. But if you want to believe that the only president I'm aware of to never have an approval rating of more than 50% is the "most popular president in history", I'm not going to waste any time trying to convince you otherwise, because nothing I've posted will do so. I just found it interesting to look at the numbers again and remind myself how stark they are. For your sake, hopefully you were just trolling. Always found that to be an odd hobby, but it wouldn't be as bad as you actually believing that nonsense.

It's really funny when people say things that are

b) completely false
c) easily googleable in sub 10 seconds
No, Shifty, Biden got the most votes ever by over 5 million votes. Obama got more than him by percentage of votes, and more electoral college votes.
You might be right about "podcast views" lmao

Lol. I'm always amused when you never say anything bad about the CBC when it quotes your guy, but then go all defund the CBC when it quotes anyone else.
That article shows the data pretty easily. Things were going well for years with low number of asylum seekers. It then spiked going into 2023 and so Trudeau took it away in 2024. Like that is GOOD GOVERNANCE when the government appropriately responds to changes in the global environment. Asylum seekers spiked everywhere, Canada is far from the only group with this problem. Good for them. Regardless, it clearly has nothing to do with Trump's insanity and you repeating his talking points since the liberals appropriatedly ended it.

Shifty is not wrong we have had more folks attempting to cross on the terror watch list than Mexico I think it’s 350 to 199 I saw on Global

No you said the policy dates back to Harper which it does not . See the difference between you and I is I admit when I get things wrong you deflect to something else
You were wrong admit it

To be clear, I'm not questioning his numbers (aside from his Trump popularity silliness). And I'm not even questioning whether or not we have a border issue, as I'm not sure either way. I just believe he's doing a bit of a dodge on what he means by "secure the border", because I don't think immigration policy change is really what people have in mind when they use that phrase. That said, I don't really know what they have in mind, and I'm not sure that they do either.

What, no I didn’t. I didn’t say the word Harper. You made that up. I said it was in place for the nafta renegotiations with Trump which is true - that was during Trudeau not Harper.
Well that was pretty quick, what's it been 3 days since the truth social post? And he's not even President yet. Pretty impressive how efficient Trump is, next 4 years are going to be impressive.
After the meeting with Trudeau, Canada’s public safety minister Dominic LeBlanc said: “We believe that there is a circumstance where we can make additional investments to reassure Canadians that all of the measures necessary are in place and will continue to be in place”, although he declined to say how much extra money the federal government would make available.
I'm sure Uke and the like are disappointed we aren't "banding together to fight".

Could be, I posted that article earlier. Seen lots of numbers thrown around, went with the conservative number but you get the jist.

Figures I seen was 358 at the northern border vs 80 and southern. I wonder what's more vague "securing the border" or "climate change".

Who has more votes than DJT? Not really interested in getting into the election nonsense anyway, it's been beat to death. You got triggered when someone said Trump is the most popular, we can go back and forth on why but it's a waste of my time.

You seem confused. It’s great our government is promising swift action to fight this massive threat. Hopefully all provincial leaders will be lock step with the federal government here.
2021 Conservatives: we need a Christmas gst holiday so you vote for us
2024 Conservatives: we’re voting against the same thing because it’s an inflationary tax trick
When you do not have the votes you cant get the funds to build a wall. He did build some wall. I remember Biden said he would not build another foot of wall but political pressure and a tight senate seat in Arizona and he built walls.
Under Trump border crossings were massively lower than under Biden
still trump did not solve it in his first 2 years and it still was larger then what canada border crossing have.
i was thinking a bit about the doom and gloom threat of tariffs from trump and im not sure its that bad regardless.
one thing about tariffs is usually you use them when others dont play nice with their currencies.
Well since we didnt do anything, one way to fight those tariffs is just lower our currency even more while shrug.
If it is good one way it is good for the other way too lol.
we already have low inflation anyway and the economy seem to need a boost right ?
all it will do is massively hurts the amercians through consumption AND exportations since their dollar will get even higher killing their exports.
trump is playing a very dangerous game cause u never know where it can go and trump, knowing are awesome he is in business (lol) , hoping no retaliation will occur but im not too sure about that either...
they already massively more indebted then us and will have to pay even higher prices ?
hopefully trudeau wont bend the knee so easily.
the backlash on trump could be immense if those tariffs are actually put in place.
Trump using a bazooka to kill a fly.
Lol kid, you hilariously ineptly said Trump had a record number of votes. This isn’t true. Biden holds the record. As was explained to you by multiple people.
Honestly you are just terrible at this.
Trump has, who has more votes for President than Trump. It's over 213 million.
Explain the other points you made. What else is easily googleable and wrong?
2021 Conservatives: we need a Christmas gst holiday so you vote for us
2024 Conservatives: we’re voting against the same thing because it’s an inflationary tax trick
Wow a politician promising a tidbit to get elected shocking . I am glad Justin would never do that
Reality is the NDP will not support the $250 checks as they found out seniors and folks with disabilities are pissed . So if the Liberals include them we may be looking at adding 10 billion to the deficit . $250 checks if passed will arrive as the carbon tax increases again .
We all know the truth Trudeau is running on borrowed time and may get wiped off the map.
Lmao. This is one of the most ineptly hilarious interpretations of "most popular president in history" ever. Trump lost the popular vote twice and narrowly won it once - but because he ran three times he is the "most popular president ever"!!!!
MAGA fans are hilarious.
Wow a politician promising a tidbit to get elected shocking . I am glad Justin would never do that
Indeed, that's the point. Politicians from all parties have done this trick in this year. The federal conservaties themselves tried the same trick a couple years ago. So it is hilarious seeing their hypocritical bleating away at it today.
