NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Don't get how Clemson is -3 feels like South Carolina should be favored slightly but I'm on Clemson anyway.
The 2024 SEC has the 10th-best average SP+ percentile rating of all time, the third best since 1976. Being that it also has 16 teams, more than any historic conference above it, you could easily assert that it's one of the best conferences we've ever seen.
What the hell is going on out there? Sometimes a unit doesn't get the right start time for a game. Vandy to the house.
Pretty hyped for today
So is every sec contender just going to be confirmed as frauds this weekend or what? Dear Lord Vawls

It's hilarious. For years I was bitching that the SEC was overrated bc they had a couple elite teams at the top that everybody fawned over, but the teams in the middel and bottom were extremely mediocre but got this huge halo effect from the top teams.
This year the exact opposite has happened. Nobody is that elite, but they have a lot of good teams and a lot of decent teams who are all beating up on each other, so everybody thinks the conference sucks.
It's like the last 10 years of the PAC (minus the fact they still aren't playing a 9th conference game)
Smart play grabbing his arm because that was an easy td
One of the biggest shocks I ever felt in college football was one season about 30 years ago, a last place one win Vandy outfit rolled into Knoxville to play a top 10 one loss UT, Peyton Manning and company. Tennessee had won the game the year before by over 60.
Vandy drove for a TD on their first possession, and late in the fourth quarter it was holding up. They were up 7-6. UT got in for a late victory 12-7.
LOLtosu
Tennessee has that "can't actually stop Vandy's offense" look that Alabama had...
Betting against tOSU first half is kinda free money
Pavia picked on an amazing play by the db in the end zone. Iamaleava immediately throws a true LOL pick underthrown by...5 yards?
I have a feeling this OSU/Mich game is gonna get nasty.
Welp
That Judkins just looks too fast. Crazy.
Ohio State going to lose
I mean they suck first half s so not super worried
Vanderbilt seems terrible lucky to be in it
Day is an idiot that cant coach in big games. hes Cooper 2.0. go Michigan so they can finally fire this weaktight clown.
i really wish y'all had a healthy Will Johnson and Loveland
then i could really believe. we're all going to end up w blue balls in the end

he's gone if they lose right?
losing 4 straight to UM gets you a one-way ticket out of Columbus, right?
Will Howard is probably not going to win a national championship
Whose QB room is worse. Michigan's or Ohio State?
