NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
I can see some tweaking to system in the future to prevent intentional tanking to avoid conf champ games of obv at large teams, certainly not saying that is what occurred today.
Btw godevils! Was super skeptical of Dillingham when he was hired but how can you not be a believer at this point? Can't believe they may not make BIG12 conf champ game, need to put up 100 today just in case.
What the hell happened in Syracuse
Just popping in to give SMU some love. Team has been getting better as the season has progressed.
A real shot to title? Probably not. But they're gonna be a problem for any team they face in the playoffs.
Everybody is a fraud this year. Notre Dame or Penn St. could win it.
lol at the Miami fan flicking off the camera
Alabama one quarter from being back in
The right to fight!
It's a great day for fighting!
LOL @ #13 for Auburn trying to look like that hit didn't hurt him.

must sting to know the only two things to be found in south university park are meth or distance
Now the Heels have to win a game with their defense. Not a good place to be.
LOL Sparty
Miami kicking a FG and putting the game of the hands of their defense who hasn't gotten a single stop was certainly a choice
lol UNC NCSU now fighting over State's flag

anybody can win
Alabama lost to 6-loss Vanderbilt
Georgia went to 8 OTs against Georgia Tech
Tennessee lost to Kentucky
Ohio State lost to 5-loss Michigan
Penn State went to the absolute wire against Bowling Green, Minnesota and USC
Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois
etc etc etc
the only undefeated team is Oregon who beat Boise and Wisconsin by 3
Clemson making the playoff bet still live
not to mention that losses will compound
Can SMU beat Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio State all in a row? Probably not
But sometimes Arizona State and Indiana pull some upsets and clear a path
SMU can absolutely beat Indiana then Arizona State then Texas or something like that
ND finally scores on some passing plays. See postgame show.
