NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Uh Oh...Marshall might be aiming for a gw field goal...
INT in 3...2..
Imagine standing for 3.5 hours at Kyle Field watching that.
Their kicker is 70% on the season!!!
JMU blocks the game winning FG!
lol, amazing how I am I just seeing this
9/16 for 62 yards and 2 picks
not sure he did much of anything either
welp no BUFFS in the BIG12 championship game.
Coach Prime has said that Shedeur and Hunter will play in whatever minor bowl game the BUFFS get selected to. I'm not so sure...and those guys really shouldn't play tbh unless they are absolutely wanting to.

I thought Buffs still play championship game if BYU loses?
I wish but nope. ASU, BYU and Iowa St. all have the tie breakers vs. CU.
EDIT: Upon further research that I didn't know about until tonight....apparently yes U R correct. The Big 12 has deemed CU to have the tie-breaker vs. BYU and Iowa St (?) with a BYU loss.
ASU is in
Byu wins ISU is in, ,BYU loses, CU is in
welp Houston stinks....
Still high af right now from that win. This feeling man. Just as intense as winning the natty. I dont deserve to be this happy.
I'll never fully understand how this happened. We suck. We have the worst QB room in the P4. Our OL is mediocre to straight bad. We have no talent at WR. Our OC is terrible. Our D is obviously good but our DBs have been getting roasted all year.
They have an Avengers roster, one of the most talented OSU teams ever. Probably the most expensive roster in college football history. They're at home. They have to want this more than us given that they're playing for a possible big ten championship plus a bye and you know, the fact that they've already lost 3 years in a row.
Michigan winning should never happen. It will never make sense to me. Such an amazing feeling.
Ohio State is completely broken. Assuming they predictably choke in the playoffs even the best rational argument to keep Day is invalid now. How good his record is no longer matters, holding the recruiting class together no longer matters, keeping the roster from getting raided no longer matters. Rationality doesn't apply here because Ohio State needs an exorcism. Michigan is inside Day's head, haunting his dreams. Firing him is the only option.
Highly entertaining weekend of football that was
happy for you ILP
you'll be old and haggard one day sitting on your porch in your rocking chair and the memory of yday's game will bring a sly smile to your face
I think smu is out with a loss but others seem to think they are a lock.
