We’ve Launched the New 2+2 Platform—Check it Out!
Hey, everyone!
We’ve got some exciting news: the new 2+2 platform is finally live at https://twoplustwo.com.
Don’t worry - You can continue using the old platform as usual
The original VBulletin platform and the new one are synchronized, so you can continue using the old one as usual. You can also log in to the new platform with the same username and password.
What is so different about the new 2+2?
- The feed. The feed helps you discover fresh and interesting content on 2+2. This feature is designed to attract new users to the website. This isn’t the final version of the feed or its algorithm. Let’s call it iteration #2 (the first was a Facebook-style feed we shared two months ago). How would you change it?
- Two-level threads. No more derailing! Threads now have a main post, replies relevant to the topic, and separate discussions under each reply.
We’ve introduced many other features, but the two above are the most game-changing.
This new UI/UX is not final—it’s just the starting point of a long journey. Our goal is to make 2+2 the ultimate platform for professional poker discussions.
Thoughts?
will check it out from a desktop later on today . thanks for attempting at updating the site .
I use TwoPlusTwo because it's a forum & operates like you expect a forum to operate. It's a familiar format for many people. I highly prefer the current ("old") version. It looks much more organized and readable compared to the new version (the big text is especially terrible to look at IMO).
Hopefully the old version is never going away.
I do appreciate that something is being done to try and keep TwoPlusTwo relevant / update things ... so please don't take my feedback the wrong way!

I agree; it's definitely more familiar. The VBulletin format, in general, has been around for a long time, and a lot of people got used to it; it's a good, intuitive format. But I would argue that the new one also operates as you would expect a forum to operate.
If you click on **Communities** from the left side panel, you'll see something very similar to what the old one displays:

Did you mean the text of the thread titles, like in the image below?

If we could set a default page in our profile to land on & keep our login active for a long time, that would help. One of the downsides of the “old” version is that I am constantly having to log in.
Yeah in vBulletin the thread titles are viewable without needing to do as much scrolling - particularly if you are viewing the desktop version. That is one reason I dislike the big text.
Dark mode or using a scheme similar to the current version would also be nice.

Makes sense. I'll change the font to something smaller. I also think that being able to see a lot of threads without scrolling is a priority.
I think on the old platform, if you press 'Remember Me,' you won't have to log in often.
The new one also keeps you logged in for a very long time.

Dark mode is present, but it works automatically if your browser or OS are using dark mode. I'll add a button to manually switch between light and dark as well.
If we could set a default page in our profile
You mean you want to be able to set any page as default. For example some thread or some forum?
Doesn't seem to honor stickies, which is bad for how a number of forums operate.
I really dislike that it's taking up a third of the screen for "About OP" when trying to read a thread.
No PMs?
It's doing weird things to color markup. Text marked blue turns out pink, for example.
How do I get back to the original, because this sucks. I can't even find a preferences link to set preferences… wtf!?

Not sure how I missed that remember me button.
Setting that ‘Communities’ tab you pointed out to default would be an example of what I meant.

Could you tell me some specific preferences you wanted to set?
PMs will be added withing a week.
I agree. Will be fixed.

The right panel will contain a lot more useful stuff. For example right now it already contains top posts (basically most liked and relatively new posts)
I'm on here on mobile and i can't zoom in anywhere. Can't zoom in in a thread to see a posted picture of stats, i can click the picture though which opens it up in a little mini window except that won't let me zoom in either.
Edit: on android btw.

Thanks for taking your time to report the issue, it's fixed now.

Great! Thanks!
Another thing on mobile is the notifications button on the top doesnt load anything usually, it just keeps spinning. Sometimes it loads my notifications but extraordinarily slowly, like 60 seconds or something. I'm talking about the dropdown that appears when i click the notifications button.
Btw notifications alert is sick! Years ago i posted a thread asking where to find the feature and i was told it didn't exist. Fantastic necessary upgrade!
Also on mobile, once I quote, i can't scroll down to the bottom of the quoted text in order to add my reply. 2-finger scrolling didn't work either, though it should be 1 finger scrolling regardless. Right now I have to press and hold to select text and then scroll to the bottom that way, highlighting everything in the process, and then click the bottom row to remove the highlight.

May I ask which browser you are using? I’ve checked on an Android phone using Chrome and Firefox, and it was possible to scroll with just one finger inside the editor after the quote button was pressed.
How long is support planned for the Vbulletin website? Have been looking at the website like this for 16 years not in a rush to change.
Awful changes
If you take away the ability to use the old site I will never visit twoplustwo ever again

Android, chrome browser, private browsing tab.

For the sake of other 2+2 members who might decide to use the new platform, could you specify some things that you find awful or perhaps things you'd change? I get that you're not going to use it yourself, but negative feedback is often more valuable than positive. It gives us the ability to change things
i'm rooting for you, i would love nothing more than to see you turn this around, but it often genuinely feels like you bought this place only to watch it burn to the ground for the lols
i know you care about this place deeply, but it doesn't feel that way, but given what you paid for it, i'm forced to give you the benefit of doubt
if you actually cared about it, you would A) start using it yourself for more than logistics and B) actually discuss with the few remaining users what they want in a redesign before you make it not after and then be surprised when people ask why you took away dms and stickies
i get that your primary goal has got to be growth of new users/bringing back the long gone ones and you're probably right that you need a fresh perspective, but it really feels like you're missing the core elements of why people come here in the first place - like switch over to the new version and lose dms? dms are half the reason i log in here
like you highlight the two level threads as a great new feature which will prevent derails
yet you blissfully ignore that nobody will ever use that feature because it buries there response deep inside a thread which requires people to seek it out and reveal it where we now gotta play whack-a-mole to find further responses on a topic rather than through passive scrolling
it also doesn't stop derails, because only an idiot would ever respond within a post rather than the general post, majority of people lurk, anyone posting wants that post to be seen and responded to - not hidden away in a gimp dungeon
and, it's just insanely naive to think adding that feature will remove derails as when threads derail, it's because that new discussion is more interesting than the prior discussion or because someone is actively trolling it into a derail - so it's either a natural improvement of an otherwise stale thread or the work of a troll, who isn't likely to be thwarted by the "well perhaps i should respond to the post specifically where nobody will see it so my troll work won't derail the thread despite that i'm literally only here to try derail threads"

I don't know for how long; it depends on how things are going to go. In theory, if 95% of all users use only the new platform, then maybe there's not much sense in keeping the old one.
Login with my normal username/password doesn't work for me. I get this error message:
An unexpected error occurred. A bug report has been sent to our development team.
