Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.
Thanks.

Craig is being very masculine right now imo
Very male coded iyam
Toast is ridiculous when you think about it. We cook the dough to make it bread, but then we cook the bread again to make toast. Why not just cook it right the first time to make it toast. That's some bullshit.
Since it’s not beyond you, then restate the post in question in a more eloquent way, which captures the same meaning..
Let's keep this train de-railin'.
Category 3: Someone is dumb as a plank but suffers from a stunning lack of self awareness. See also: ?/3 guy.
Also, pro tip: Signaling that what you're category 1 is the realm of televangelists and other assorted con artists. If you have to signal that what you're telling people is profound, it isn't.
This is the most arrogant bullshit that I have ever read in my life. You can signal that you are category 1 all you want. But that signalling doesn't make it so.
You've clearly not had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Deuces McCracken.
Category 1 prisoner more like.
To be fair, it also doesn't make it not so. I know I'm in the minority here, but Craig has a lot of insight, though it's not something that's going to resonate with most people. A subtle approach would be more effective.
No, he doesn't. He has all the insight, wisdom, eloquence, profundity and intelligence of a house brick.
And we tried the subtle approach before, it worked as well as expected. So, launching the brick through the window is clearly the correct approach.
I meant a more subtle approach from his end.
If he could subtly learn to not talk in word salad, that might be a good start.

I never claimed it did. My point was that craig's assurances that he is profound are just bluster and arrogance unless he can back it up with posting that supports his claim.

If craig is actually insightful, then he is doing a poor job of conveying his insight (at least to me). Imitating the speech of Christian mystics isn't the same thing as being insightful.
The story must progress. The Son of Man brings division. The line will be drawn and never erased.
I’m not going to stop — this hasn’t even truly started yet. Anyone is encouraged to unify with the SoM and replace me. Until then, the world will be stuck with me.
I see the "not speaking in word salad" project is getting on like a house on fire.
In "The Son Of Man" Jesus examines an upright cross recently used for crucifixion, admires the quality of its timber, and sighs, "You should have stayed a tree, and I should have stayed a carpenter."

I only wear one. Fire me, if you want. Or throw me in the water. Whatever.
I'm guessing the Office Space clip would just be way too obvious at this juncture and everyone else is levels above me.
If the crucifixion was against the will of the SoM, then it never would’ve happened.
There was a part of Jesus which resisted the story, but ultimately Jesus submitted to the SoM. Why?
craig,
Serious question. Does the post above mean that you believe you are some sort of prophet?
Or more generally, do you think that your connection to a higher power is somehow extraordinary? By extraordinary, I mean unusually intense or close. I'm not interested in a response that basically amounts to "we all have an extraordinary connection to a higher power, whether we realize it or not."
If the answer to either question is yes, and you are willing to discuss, then my interest in continuing this discussion just increased 10-fold.
Why indeed. Did we ever discover why Robocop shot that guy in the dick? Seems a bit violent.
