2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Yeah, I got into a habit of doing a lot of similar builds with just different combos of the same position.
I still want to lean into what I think is the best strategy but also add in plenty of builds I don’t think are conventional.
ADP is going to be interesting after how this season has played out.
Wonder how far CMC drops next year . After screwing everyone over .
Whatever our Current Winnings are after MNF is the minimum we'll win, right?
I think CMC will be at 2/3 turn, unless there’s bad news in the off-season. May start out at 3/4 turn for the predraft contests. He’s going to be a tough play.
And yeah, the way DK lists “winnings” is a joke. It’s the room buyin total minus the rake divided by 2 for the top 2 finishers.
But the total pool you’re playing for isn’t $240 minus rake. That’s just the buyin total of your 12 man draft room.
DK lists winnings as if it’s a sng, not as a tournament.
I'm going off this
The total pool is $240 (12 entrants x $20)
When they say the total prize pool is $204.04 I assumed that was with rake taken out.
Yea but they pay out most of it to the winners of the finals . There’s a way to see the payouts from week 15, 16 and 17 . I only use the phone app so not sure how to direct you on the website .
Ok what you all are saying makes sense. I had reached out to support and this was there response so I'm still a little confused. But I'm not going to worry about it, and just plan on winning the whole thing hopefully.
You should respond and tell Jake that if you finish #1 in the contest, you’ll be expecting $1.5 million.
That team was probably drafted in June or July. Achane and Barkley were at the 2/3 turn for a lot of that time period. They both kept moving up in the 2nd as the summer went on.
Let's go people, I need some opinions here.
Win I'm in - lose I'm out.
Pick 2 Flex - .5 PPR:
Mooney @ MIN
K. Allen @ SF
J. Warren vs. CLE
Engram @ TEN
need qb for this week with lamar on bye
must win game
Stafford or Caleb or winston or Levi or Geno?
Leaning stafford or caleb?

Again Stafford for the floor but Caleb for the Ceiling. If 14pts will do you its Stafford if you think you'll need more Caleb though I dont think he'll reach his ceiling as often vs SF
Did my first playoff bestball draft on UD… it didn’t go super well
Josh Allen drafter sniped me on Goff bc I tried pushing him around to the 3rd, so am in qb hell. I was also so surprised that I ended up taking Pacheco which was almost for sure bad given what I had to do to get a qb later
From the 3 spot
Qb - Russ, Herbert
Rb - Monty, Pacheco, Dobbins
Wr/Te - ARSB, Laporta, Pickens, Ladd, Patrick
Well, you'll be live if you get a Pitt/Det or Det/LAC SB haha.
I've heard the other drafters are terrible. Taking Josh and Goff together seems bad.
I think this one turned out better, but I honestly don’t 100% know what I’m doing yet
Allen, Stroud
Cook, Walker
Jamo, Nico, Shakir, Cooper, Dell, DK
I say this without any experience drafting playoff best ball, but I have read some strategy talk.
I think you mostly want to try to stick to 1 QB. Obviously, there is some risk for the bye week teams and having a 1 QB team that's on bye makes advancing out of your draft room really difficult. If you draft 2 QBs, I think you'd rather have them in different conferences. But I could be wrong here.
You really want to hit on the teams in the CGs, and obviously the SB. I see a lot of people trying to stick to players from 2-3 teams maximum.
I think you mainly want to think about what the SB looks like.
Qb - Russ, Herbert
Rb - Monty, Pacheco, Dobbins
Wr/Te - ARSB, Laporta, Pickens, Ladd, Patrick
Lions/Pitt SB gives you Monty/ARSB/LaPorta/Patrick and Russ/Pickens. Lions/LAC SB gives you Monty/ARSB/LaPorta/Patrick and Herbert/Ladd/Dobbins. I think you're right that Pacheco was bad, and it'd be much better if that was Najee or Warren.
Allen, Stroud
Cook, Walker
Jamo, Nico, Shakir, Cooper, Dell, DK
Bills/Lions SB gives you Allen/Shakir/Cooper/Cook and Jamo. Texans/Lions SB gives you Stroud/Nico/Dell and Jamo. Bills/Seahawks SB gives you Allen/Shakir/Cooper/Cook and Walker/DK. Texans/Seahawks SB gives you Stroud/Nico/Dell and Walker/DK.
It'd probably be better to have Stroud be Geno and Jamo be JSN.
I've seen some LegUp YouTube shows discussing playoff best ball. I haven't listened to them, but it could be a good starting point. Pat shipped a team last season. Here is one they posted today.

I've seen quite a few best ballers say playoff best ball is their favorite format, and that it's the softest. I just don't have the time or energy to put into it.
This was also an interesting exercise, but unfortunately, I'm not sure how relevant it is in the current format. The vast majority of the sample has seeds 1/2 of each conference getting byes and has only 6 playoff teams in each conference.
