Cricket bats have handles, but it's kinda hard to go for the 2-step connection when there are things on the board that actually have handles.

I worry a little that it could be easy to overlook or more unknown
At least at Hawks games the announcer says “thunderrr sticks” for every opponent free throw to get the crowd to make lots of noise so not sure if I’m biased
Yes, I think thunder sticks is a good fit here, and I don't think Insanity is as likely to overlook it as some other cluers.
It's in the top tier for me with hole and tattoo.
I've never heard of thunder sticks and I follow basketball...granted not really the Atlanta Hawks...but idk, insanity knows sports but I wouldn't auto assume knows this...I'm surprised I didn't know this - do you think it's on par with Light the Beam or Fear the Deer?
I kinda like hole next, it's a "simple" word like stick, there are a lot of ways to connect the 2.
The pistol idea did stick(heh heh) out to me too so I don't mind that, I kind of like Sling. If we make the connection to a slingshot which isn't really much of a stretch that kinda works
