UnitedHealth CEO Assassinated
The murder of UnitedHealthcare's CEO is a strange story. On the one hand, the killer obviously was taking steps to avoid getting caught. He was wearing a hoodie. He used a silencer. He clearly had an escape plan.
On the other hand, he was wearing a distinctive backpack. He may have left a food wrapper and a water bottle at the scene. And there was writing on each of the three shell casings (the words "deny," "defend," and "depose").
It's too hard to not dance on a grave really.
Not saying you need to be sad and weep-- lots of people to weep for out there so you're allowed to pick and choose-- you just don't have to dance.
Sometimes when people tell you who they are, you have to just believe them. The last few years have been a very mask off moment for progressivism. And the American public is rightly waking up and rejecting this ideology of envy, hate and destruction.
Of course, it is hard to imagine that Trumpism is going to yield better results (I am skeptically optimistic); but the American people have made it clear that they are willing to try basically anything to excise the cancer of radical progressivism. And although Biden/Harris made some inroads back to the center, it wasn't perceived as enough.

The reality politicians like this person, and the ideas they represent, are still in good standing in the Democrat Party are why there was such a large mandate by the people rejecting them.

And it's for your own good really. Craig will tell you about it.
I’m down to dance on this guy’s grave. And I am perfectly content with drawing the ire of the people whose ire I’m drawing ITT cuz it’s honestly not like I give a flying **** about what you have to say about me
So far it’s you, corpus, dunyain and rococo, 3 of you I have on ignore already before today, the 4th is a mod
We good
You’re exhausting and intentionally misrepresenting everything I’m saying
See you in the next thread I guess, I’ve addressed enough of your sanctimonious bullshit in good faith here
Your posts speak for themselves. Others can decide for themselves whether I have misrepresented anything you said.

As you know, I don't believe that the public is clamoring for progressive politicians in swing states, but this is a considerable overstatement.
I also think that it is quite something to ascribe this shooting to progressive politics. We have no idea what this guy's motives were or what his political beliefs are. Even if he was pissed about a denial of coverage, that hardly implies that his politics are progressive. Conservatives don't like health insurance problems any more than progressives do, and they are far more likely to be proficient with firearms.

Congrats on finding yourself on the same side as a poster ITT who thinks me chuckling at this guy’s death means it’s ok to be a Sandy hook denier
These are the ‘others’ you want to decide our interaction? Personally I’d be a little hesitant to embrace that. But that’s just cuz I value the lives of children and their trauma

I dont know what the motive of the shooting is. I was speaking towards the ideology of people supporting the shooting.

I thought you were done?
LB is completely wrong about Sandy Hook, and it was wildly offensive for him to interact in the way he did with someone who was directly affected. He knows that I think that. But he is correct that (i) no one is asking you to feel sad about this CEO's death; and (ii) it is weird for you to want to laugh in the faces of the guy's kids.
With the exception of PB and a few others, there is almost no one here who is consistently wrong about everything.
Also, I don't give a **** who agrees with me on a particular point. My views are my views. I'm not taking cues from anyone here on what to think.

Oh I’m done engaging you as a person in good faith
I’m perfectly content to continue with just trolling you for the absurdity of your misrepresentations and the company you now keep
subscribing to thread. nothing to add.
I had a close friend die recently, and the life insurer gave his wife the runaround for a couple of days before agreeing to pay the claim. It was insanely stressful for her.
That's terrible! Are there plans of murdering this life insurance agent and laughing in the face of their children? Clearly it is justified under the new "it is okay to murder people who caused me stress" doctrine we have now adopted in this country.
I can't imagine the mental contortions you have to go through to imagine that someone is trying to bully you into not being mad about the U.S. healthcare system. What people are objecting to is the apparent bloodlust and glee, which seems like a problem regardless of whether this guy was a good person or not.
But I get it. Your approach is well-represented in this country. Every time someone gets the electic chair, there are people outside the prison cheering and holding up signs that say "L
Wait a sec rococo now we are at the "lawful executions are like people being shot by assassins in the street"?
I thought you were a centrist.
No it's not the same if you celebrate a person found guilty in a trial and getting the death penalty vs someone being assassinated by a random person in the street
Nobody, and I mean ****ing nobody, will ever succeed in making me feel guilt for this sentiment
And if you want to sit there and claim some moral superiority it’s because you are fortunate enough to never had to feel the struggle first hand, in which case, good for you, but ****ing spare me
You care about the moral high ground. It’s just that you are telling yourself a story where your personal victimization is particularly unique, and this gives you the moral high ground no matter how else you behave.
There are other people who have suffered as much you do and they divorce themselves from the bitterness, you know why? It’s because they are wise enough to realize that bitterness leads to temporary forms of justice rather than lasting justice, and you can only have one (see my previous post about this topic).

How they were judged to be bad people is irrelevant to my point.
As for whether I am centrist, I've been called most everything at this point -- a progressive, a conservative, a centrist, a Marxist, a closet racist. I haven't been called a fascist or a conspiracy theorist yet, but I'm sure the time will come.
Make your own decision, I guess.
Wait, lemme bold this for you for emphasis
You are not capable of making me feel ashamed for what I said
So I re-read the comments to make sure I didn't miss something. Literally nobody said "you have to care" about anything. Nobody. You are just rightly being pointed out as being garbage. The fact that your main contributions to this forum are acting like you are morally superior to other posters is particularly ironic. You are cheering on the murder of an innocent person because you don't like his job. You have no moral ground to stand on.
I am going to repeat this again, since it's a new day. The fact that this forum has devolved into a platform for the advocacy and cheering on of literal terrorism is sickening. If it was twenty years ago, people like you would make it onto a government watch-list and would have permabanned from this site immediately. Times sure have changed.
Ok

I had to reread this post for a second cuz I couldn’t stop laughing
Gimme a couple minutes to finish that and I’ll happily address whatever the actual **** this is

Well that seems mean

I’m known for having contributions to this forum? Lol

Having zero remorse a shitty human being is dead is not the same as cheering his murder but ok let’s continue
You have no moral ground to stand on.
Probably not. Morality is relative

Now you’re just being dramatic
If it was twenty years ago, people like you would make it onto a government watch-list
Im middle eastern, im probably already on a list
and would have permabanned from this site immediately.
So you could miss out on my claims of moral superiority in this forum which are my noted achievements?!
Times sure have changed.
Ok Jan

Can't imagine how mentally ill somebody has to be to actually go "HAHAHAHAHAHA people think I'm a POS? HAHHAHA I CAN'T TYPE!"
Thankfully, the powers that be didn't take your continuous lobbying for mod powers seriously. Who knows what kind of madhouse this place would turn into otherwise.
