The Poker to Bitcoin Pipeline - Journey to 1.0
Hello all!
Have been working on this challenge for a while and wanted to document it to hold myself accountable and finish strong!
About me:
29 year old living in Las Vegas. Single w/ no kids so what is there to do besides make money right? I'm not a pro as I do work a full time job in upper management at an E-commerce company (take a wild guess) but I am currently grinding live 1/3 and 2/5 (rather not say where since I go to the same room every single time 😃) and the occasional micros to small stakes on an obscure bitcoin poker site with not a lot of traffic.
The Goal
As stated in the title, the goal is to get to 1.0 BTC through live poker, online poker, and the occasional $100 ACH transfer to my exchange wallet. The bulk of the volume will be done with live poker.
Results So far
Current Bitcoin HODLing: 0.71803477 BTC
Live Poker Results: +$25,009
mandatory giraffe:
I plan to play at least 100 live hours a month, with March on track to surpass this goal at 89 hours. After I have a decently over-rolled for the games I play I plan to allocate a small amount of my bankroll to purchasing more Bitcoin. I have abandoned a thread before, but this one will be seen through to the end! To 1.0 that is 😉 LFG!

Well, um, hello. Been a while.
A lot has developed! I am gonna try to bring back this thread as I am in a better position to devote time to it. Recently got a new job which is a cozy fake email job. This is the American dream folks. Fake email jobs ftw
I fell on kinda hard times transitioning in between jobs and sold some coins at 60k or so in May 2024 in order to stay afloat but have almost as much BTC now as the last post indicates. I'll eventually tally it up as I moved one of the coins onto Coinbase. I am not sure when I would want to sell. I am trying not to put a number on it but I am going to try to aim for what I feel is peak mania. In 2021 the top signal in hindsight was certainly NFL players taking their salary in Bitcoin and Coinbase was the hottest app on the planet. Not sure what the 2025 top signal will look like but I will do my best to time it right.
I have a stash separate in my private wallet that I am not willing to sell for any price. Tank it 99%, I don't care. I'll buy more.
Enough cryptobro stuff though, poker results have been wildly successful. 2023 I won $32,378 over 1,431 hours for 7.54bb/hour.
This year I'm currently on pace to solidly outperform versus last year. I'm currently up $32,625 over 1,315 hours for 8.27bb/hour. Would be awesome to improve in all three metrics year over year.
Currently am on a massive heater. Previously my most winning month ever since I started tracking results was something like +4600 and last month I won 8k and this month am up 6.6k. All at 2/3 which is a 600 max buyin so pretty wild. Very abnormal amounts of run good. Not complaining of course!
Plan is still to keep buying BTC with poker monies. Insane how much more expensive it has become. One drawback of the price going vertical is your dollars buy way less of it. I don't think that trend is likely to change anytime soon.
Last night I won a free crypto poker tournament which was winner take all for roughly 0.6 SOL (~$150). I bought some of the BONK meme coin for fun. I think meme coins are pretty fun.

Cheers!
Got absolutely SMOKED last night, -1200 or so and certainly a top 3 biggest loss at 2/3 for me. Lot of unavoidable situations; I feel like maybe $200 of that was my fault and everything else was AKs ran into AA, KK vs 78s on Q78s in a 3bet pot, etc. After winning almost 15k in two months it was about time I landed back down to earth!
I've bought a lot of Bitcoin as a consequence of the heater. Unfortunately the dollar does not stretch nearly as far as it used to. I remember buying at 18K thinking I was getting away with grand larceny because no way should it be worth this little! Now here I am complaining that it costs so much!
Expect plenty of volatility along the way, nothing goes up in a straight line. Still playing plenty of poker to finish November strong!
Poker:
November results: +$5,357 over 119 hours
2024 results: +$31.352 over 1,346 hours
Total BTC HODLings: 2.07893234 Bitcoin
Cheers!
Following! Insane how we're basically at the coveted $100k mark now but it feels like the "quietest" cycle yet. Retail is only just beginning to dip their toes in again. Will be watching for top signals as well.

Thanks for following!
Yes I completely agree the disbelief and skepticism among "normies" is still very palpable. I remind myself of how things felt in 2021 when literally everyone had a coinbase account and was buying btc and people were making five figures on doge.
I would imagine a big top signal for this cycle might be a bunch of nation states all announcing they have been buying or something huge like that and crazy euphoria among retail. But part of me feels like we might not see a true secular bear market for a long time. The spot ETFs, options on the ETFs now live, corporations like Microsoft considering the Microstrategy way and adding BTC to the balance sheet, all these things are new things that previous Bitcoin cycles never had. I think we might be on a longer term secular bull market if the demand continues to pick up pace while the supply is basically all gone now. We will see, I'm of course along for the ride.
November Update
We finished November strong! Ended up picking up most of the cash I had lost when I experienced a bit of turbulence towards the end of the month dropping close to 3k pretty quickly. I think I got it all back for the most part. December going well so far, +$1,405 over 15 hours. Had a fun hand with a loose rec-reg last night that I completely butchered while on my 4th Guiness Stout:
2/3 NL ~600 effective
Hero opens in EP with JcJd to 15, Villain 3bets to 65, folds to Hero who calls.
Flop: 7d 8d 4h
Hero bets 40, Villain calls.
Turn: 9s
Hero bets 65, Villain raises to 235, Hero folds. Villain shows 42o LOL
I was so mad at myself for how weak I played it. I think check calling turn is a better play overall. Yeah I was drunk but I need to think about my opponent's potential response to the line I'm taking. Really don't think this guy would elect not to raise the donk lead on flop with an overpair, I think he raises those almost always. Therefore facing the turn raise I probably have the best hand almost always and should have won a big pot here. Lesson learned!
Poker Results
November: +$5,408 over 159 hours
2024: +$32,808 over 1,400 hours
Bitcoin Update
We hit the fabled 100K! Pretty surreal it's finally here. I am hoping the journey to 200k is a bit quicker, or is that greed? hahaha. I bought like 8k worth over the last couple of months during this heater and actually bought 1.7M sats right before it started spiking last night. Let's see where we go next!
Total BTC HODLings: 2.09685592 Bitcoin

I forgot to mention this but I started grinding NL20 on pokerbros for fun and if I make anything off there I'm gonna be putting it into meme coins as a moonshot bag. Some of these things are going up millions of percentage points, I think it would be silly not to at least throw some money at them that is insignificant to me. I have Costco Hot Dog coin and Bonk right now and really am only looking at SOL based memes. I'm up a little less than a buyin after like 3k hands nothing to write home about.
Haven't played poker in a couple days as I've been doing a lot of work stuff and politic parties with the big wigs. I also moved into a new condo so that's been eventful. Planning to play poker tonight though we will see how December shapes up. Cheers!
nice, sol memes like bonk/wif/popcat look like they're starting the next leg up
