Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.
Thanks.
Ok, I have a better story. And it involves a CFO. I'll leave names out to protect the guilty.
So, when I was a kid, well, yute, right, and was doing all my yuteful indiscretions, well, I was also an admin on the work system. Like, a fruit picker, according to Didace. But, I did pick a lot of fruit. For example, I discovered that the CFO of the company was having an affair with one of the lawyers. And not just any affair - he requested from her (and received) sex in his office, during a time when every single other person at the company was at a presentation. I know this because as well as picking fruit, I had admin rights and could read everyone's emails.
And I'm not Lozen, so that information stayed with... well, it stayed pretty much unexposed until just now, 20 years later, and with no names,
When I was late 20s I began a secret relationship with an attractive woman at the same work place, who the CEO then took a shining to and started giving lifts to the station lol. He then gave up and started seeing one of the senior managers there, who he married (after divorcing his wife).
A year or two later and somehow word had got out about us and he confronted me furiously in a corridor, threatening to demote me. When I asked innocently "Why? I've worked really hard for you" he said "You know why!".
Nothing came of his threats, thankfully, possibly due to me knowing via a friendship I had with one of the directors that his own position was extremely shaky, and intimating to him that if he carried out his threat I might take a detour via the organisation's HQ where his national boss had offices. lol
I still don't know who was masturbating on the couch. I really hope it was the girl and d2 was watching kickball.

I think I might know who you are, lol. Your name isn't Nick Hill by any chance, is it?
Well, I know it isn't. But this story is ****ing identical to another one I know.
I had admin right for the whole company network except for HR who for privacy/confentiality reasons had demanded their own little network supported by an external company
All fine and dandy until it crashed and the external company didn't seem to exist. Over to us with the backup tape on which nothing was encrypted or password protected. I didn't look at anything but a colleague had no scruples about looking and sharing with everyone. Much amusment and mayhem followed.

Nope but male CEOs "giving lifts" to attractive females is pretty common I'd guess and if she's seeing someone already from work then it's pretty dangerous for that person.
It was quite funny because she used to tell me what he talked about in the car, and it was mainly...wait for it....
I always stuns me (I know, it shouldn't) what people put into work emails thinking they have some privacy.
I'm sad that I'm so old that for my anacdote emails weren't even a thing

When I started at my final work place within a few days I'd been sent a copy of a file sent around the devs by someone who had live access to a key finance system that had peoples salaries. So basically everyone knew what everyone else was earning and the range was wide, like x1.75, causing much disgruntlement especially as one or two of the top earners were quite useless but had been there donkey's years. LOL
I dont think my age at that anecdote says anything about retirement
So, didace, you want the real Penthouse letter? I kept it PG, coz, well, you know.
The real letter is that the girl was a ****ing nymph, I'm not sure how else to describe it. Basically, everything I wanted, she not only enthusiastically did, she would write in this diary that she had about how much she enjoyed it. And I do mean, anything. I suspect that I may have ruined her for the men that undoubtedly followed. If I didn't, it wasn't for lack of trying,

this doesn't gel, you clearly did look and are either afraid to admit it anonymously now or you just looked by proxy
if you are another person find someone's diary and one reads it out loud to you, you are just as guilty as the reader
I’d certainly want to see what notes the company internal police department aka HR had on me.

my friend played a game with his gf where she had to eat a bowl of cereal as he hit her from behind and if she couldn't finish the bowl before he finished then it went into the cereal
"My friend"
