Higher or Lower sports edition

Higher or Lower sports edition

See how high we can get, every question will be sports related and the number will correlate to the question number for example question 1 will be higher or lower than 1, question 20 will be higher or lower than 20 etc

Q1:

The number of NBA Finals appearances made by the Los Angeles Clippers

Higher or Lower than 1? You can confer between yourselves and then someone can bold your guess

this looks fun

Clippers have been historically awful...a few years there where they got some hype, they knocked off the Spurs one year which was surprising but then got beat by the Warriors

I'd vote LOWER on this one, unless there's one from a long time ago I can't think of any in the last 35 years

Subbing

No idea lmao

I think LOWER as well. I know it is obv, but they would have to be there twice or more for lower not to be correct..

maybe next person who agrees can bold lower

I know they haven’t won a championship idk if they ever made the finals

It's lower. 100% certain they've never made it.

I think they've only made the conference finals once.

Yep! They have never made a single appearance.

Q2:

Is Secretariat's Kentucky Derby record higher or lower than 2 minutes?

I'm pretty sure it's under.

I'm not 100% confident like the last question. More like 80-85%.

I don't have a clue

I'll chip in when there is a cricket question (perhaps snooker or darts).

How far is the Derby?

How far is the Derby?

Not exactly sure. Whatever distance makes it such that the winners are always in like the 2:02 range.

They call it "the most exciting two minutes in sports".

Ah ok, must be 2000m then. I thought it was 2400m and was gonna say this would be over for sure, but it's gonna be real close.

I would guess under too, but it could go either way.

Actually, if the average time is around 2:02, it's hard to imagine no horse has ever cracked 2:00. I think it has to be under?

Wooo no idea here

I would think under just cause those horse races go fast!! But I don't really watch or know anything about the ponies

Actually, if the average time is around 2:02, it's hard to imagine no horse has ever cracked 2:00, and didn't Secretariat win that race by like 20 lengths? I think it has to be under?

I think that was the Belmont.

But I still agree with your overall point and am happy to bold under, especially since there's no one pushing the other way.

haven't times improved dramatically? and didn't secretariat run like 100 years ago?

Secretariat holds the record for the Derby to this day. I'm certain of that.

I'm less certain of the time but I think it's under 2 minutes.

Lower

We've got like 5 arguments for higher and no one is pushing back at all the other way.

Correct! Secretariat's record of 1:59:40 still holds to this day.

Q3 coming as soon as I rand higher/lower so there's no psychological aspect of 'oh he's went lower twice in a row so it's more likely to be higher next' :p

Q3:

Is the number of Superb Owl appearances by the Philadelphia Eagles higher or lower than 3?

They lost to the Patriots in the 2000s.
They beat the Patriots in the 2010s.
They lost to the Chiefs two years ago.

So this has to be higher.

There must be another one back in the 70s or something.

I think they were in it in the 80s?

Could be. In any case, we can just move on. It's not less than 3.

Higher
