Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about a particular season or votes for hottest, best, etc.
Given that who knows when/if the show will come back, here's a general thread to post all things Survivor.
I won't ruin the OP with my content post, so it will come next.
Enjoy and come on in guys!
i dont usually like to credit people when they win immunity - like wow they won immunity they deserve to win
but rachel winning it last night was so clutch that I actually said "wow she deserves to win this game" out loud
I don't think many winners get there without some luck. Points in her favor:
- kept her threat level reasonable early until the end so even when she was in the target zone, there was always a bigger target
- she was on the right side of every post merge vote other than Operation Italy
- she's won high leverage immunities
- she found an idol, kept it secret, and played it for maximum leverage
- she even did some great jury management with Andy and Genevieve where I don't see them leaving bitter even though both probably feel like she cost them the million
That's a deserving winner.
Right my prediction going into the 'two party finale'
6th - Andy getting the Emily Flippen treatment with Genevieve winning immunity
5th - Genevieve finally goes
4th - Sam wins immunity, takes Teeny on the grounds he thinks Sue has a better chance of taking Rachel out at fire
4th - Sue loses fire
Final three Sam, Teeny, Rachel
Rachel wins 7-1-0 with Sam getting a sympathy vote from Sierra
Well i'm halfway there.
Obviously an underwelming episode for me as I always want to be surprised and be wrong. Quite wild that assuming Rachel does go on to win this that she would have lost the game if she hadn't bid on the french fries
I don't think I would see anyone as a good winner besides Rachel except Genevieve. Sam, Teeny, Sue have done nothing to deserve the win IMO. That's of course assuming Andy gets taken out which should happen as soon as possible.
Sam has had to claw and scratch to stay in the game. If they somehow manage to get rid of Rachel, I'd say he deserves it over Teeny and Sue who've just spitefully sat there complaining about other players, while winning nothing and having little to no say in anything productive. Sam even recognized the spiteful nature of Sue and Teeny and leaned into it this last episode to increase the chances they went against Genevieve/Rachel instead of himself. Pointed out how Rachel and Genevieve were discounting everyone else's games. How dare they?

Deserving winner. Sure
Better than the last 2 winners combined? No
million dollar french fries

Oh, I agree if it's that final three, Sam deserves to win.
My order of deservedness to win would be:
1) Rachel (by a large margin)
2) Andy (I'd be okay with him if he wasn't sitting next to Rachel)
3) Genevieve
4) Sam
If either Teeny or Sue won I'd throw my remote at the television.
It's not even enough to her to be terrible and always wrong, she wants to make sure everyone knows it too. Just in case people aren't paying attention, she always comments on it at tribal council and makes it a topic. Weird strategy. Only end game for it I can see is that she plans to cry during FTC and lean hard into the victim who overcame all obstacles angle.
If Rachel pulls through, this is one of the best winners we've had in a long time. She's awesome and in the Kim Spradlin tier imo.
I just started watching this season, e1 last night and 10 minutes in to e2 now. Is the whole season this horrible or is it worth continuing? Just heard "It's giving..." for the first time on Survivor. Shoot me, please. I really noticed Jeff starting to show his age too. Sad times.

+1
I think the comparison between Rachel and Genevieve gives too much credit to Genevieve. I am sure Genevieve's smarmy, arrogant, self-important manner would have her think she is a "peer" to Rachel, but I question whether Genevieve has the respect of Jurors. If she sat with Sam and Sue at the end, and was not directly responsible for Rachel going home, I am doubtful that she would win the jury.
It seems Rachel risked coming off like Genevieve does, but I think she "checked" herself at some point and realized she needed to temper the attitude. Self-awareness is priceless....
I am sure people think Genevieve would be good for another season, but she is overrated, imo.. What is on her resume? She tricked Teeny repeatedly..........lol
well part of it is that Kenzie was a terrible winner who kind of did nothing and then won because she said I'm poor at FTC. Dee was an average to below average winner who found a strong finishing kick after a pretty mediocre game.

Kenzie is the worst winner of every single season I've watched. Not even close.
(I've watched Pearl Islands, the two Spencer seasons, 46, and 47, so not fair. But Kenzie still sucked.)

Keep watching. Easily the best season of the new age "turbo" Survivor.
Best since 40 for sure
It's a 2-part finale, because surprise twist, it's a final two and it's between Teeny and Sue. Who wins?
I think Sue.
Teeny has been absolutely wrong about absolutely everything. Even last night she votes Sam instead of Gen.
I can't remember seeing someone who has been as clueless as Teeny has been.

I think Teeny would win but if this was somehow a F2 that might be a serious sign the game mechanics are broken.

Not even close. Kim had people falling all over themselves to help her get to the end in addition to voting for her. These people would totally vote Rachel out if they could. Of course, that could say more about the quality of the other competitors than about Rachel's social game. These people would like to win. One World people on team Kim.
