Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about a particular season or votes for hottest, best, etc.
Given that who knows when/if the show will come back, here's a general thread to post all things Survivor.
I won't ruin the OP with my content post, so it will come next.
Enjoy and come on in guys!
Rachel's (potential) winning game would he signifcantly closer to Mike Holloways or Ben's than it would be to Kim Spradlins
Parvati Shallow is on the next season of Deal or No-Deal Island starting broadcast in January
she has been on The Traitor
Boston Rob was on the first season of Deal or No-Deal Island

Yeah she's played a great game but not quite top tier. Don't even know if I'd have her as top 10 but she'd be close to that.
Top tier I have as people like Brian Heidik, Tom Westman, Boston Rob in season 22, Kim S, Tony in his first season.
I was complaining that watching tonight was pointless. I take it back, that was worth it
Yes. Winds of justice blew Teeny's flame offline.
Fists a pumping as teeny screamed no and watched the patriarchy win at her expense again.
Good effort by Sam at FTC but there was no hope.
Lol Kyle voting for Sam. Sorry but I get a definite vibe from Kyle, and it's a vibe of someone who is not one to give a woman credit.
Anyway Rachel dominated the post merge and clearly deserved to win. I'm really so tired of people treating winning immunity challenges as a negative. Sam's main argument was that Rachel had it easier than him, because she just kept winning ICs. Dude, you're a 6'4" jock and you couldn't win a single IC. Even Sue won one and she's barely 5 feet tall and almost 60.
Don't get me wrong Sam did well at the FTC and I realize that it was his only play... But even some of the questions from the jury made it seem as if Rachel just had immunity necklaces and idols drop into her lap from the heavens.
If the argument you have to make for your game is to devalue the accomplishments of the other competitor, you probably aren't going to win. But Sam's argument was able to sway the vote of the person who's game was most similar to the one he was devaluing so, good job I guess. I think there's some chance Kyle voted for Sam to ensure him second over Sue. No love lost there.
The universe has spoken, Teeny.

An interesting way to look at it because my opinion the entire season was that Sue was being brutally unfair to Kyle and wanting him out the entire season for basically no reason. For this reason, it wouldn't surprise me if Kyle knew everyone else was likely voting for Rachel anyway and wanted to ensure that Sue didn't finish tied for 2nd
I agree with the posts above. Pretty lame to diminish the most powerful part of the game; an individual immunity win. But Sam made a solid Hail Mary effort.
Also, the final challenge was lame; bland and generic. And the edit foreshadowed a big Sam fire comeback the whole way. Though, I thought at first he was trolling about not being able to make fire. I didn’t realize he was actually dumb enough to not have any practice.
I think Sam actually won final tribal but too little too late
I don't recall has there been an 8-0 winner? Cause if not for the wind there would have been tonight
Several survivor players on traitors season 3 in January, including Tony!
The best winner in a long time. One of the best.
I want to watch Rachel play again at some point. I know we probably won't ever get that, but I'd love if it happened.
Once Rachel won immunity I didn’t bother watching the rest of the episode and just googled to see how much she won by with the final vote.

Yeah I miss the challenge where they drop the balls onto the tracks and have to catch them before they fall. The final challenge should be something different aside from another obstacle course with a puzzle at the end. The ball stacking challenge that Rachel won would have made for a more suspenseful final IC.

Sam did a great job; he's not obligated to be fair or reasonable at FTC, he's gotta try whatever he can, and he made a really nice argument of - if the game is outwit, outlast, outplay, when did she ever use anything other than immunity or idols to save herself? You can also argue it's way easier to build alliances and encourage people to go your way when you are guaranteed to be safe so the immunity has power beyond just not getting voted out.
In fact, I was a little surprised there wasn't a bit more made of "hell, you would have been out way earlier if Sol didn't randomly give you safety".
Sam did his best given his was basically drawing dead. I said he made a solid Hail Mary effort.
With that said, what better way to outwit, outplay, and outlast, than ensuring you're safe TC? I acknowledge that finding hidden idols or advantages is mostly fortunate variance, though, they still have to be executed properly. We've seen countless players go home with idols/advantages. Rachel was fortunate Sol passed along safety without power. Rachel was fortunate the hidden idol was in the fries. Rachel was fortunate to go on the journey and win the game leading her to block a vote.
But to diminish challenge wins leading to the immunity idol is weak.
Outplay - The very definition of outplaying is being better than the other players to win the challenge.
Outlast - The person holding immunity is going to outlast the other players every single time.
Outwit - You said it yourself. Winning immunity gives you more power giving you the ability to more easily build alliances and encourage people to go your way. You can be more aggressive and take more chances.
At the end of the day, I get that it's a social game where the most important aspect is having the ability to earn votes at FTC. But first, you have to get there. And second, you still have to earn the votes. Rachel did both.
My updated most likely to win rankings are;
1) Rachel
2) Caroline
3) Teeny
4) Andy
5) Sue
big gap
6) Sam
7) Genevieve
8) Kyle
9) Gabe
Unfortunately ended up being a slog of a post merge for me with an obvious winner shoved in our faces from the final 10 onwards and without the chaotic fun and drama we had in S46 (Q, Venus, Liz etc)
Would love for them to try something different in the final two seasons before 50, but failing that another season like 45 or 46 will do just fine I guess until the big one.
Maybe I'm a nit but it bothered my when Jeff said ", the tribe has spoken" to Teeny after she lost fire
