25th year PRs
Hello!
Taking inspiration from feelwrath, who I’ve interacted with on the forum plenty over the past 5~ years.
I have some goals for myself that I’d like to document in here primarily for accountability purposes.
Age: 25
Relationship Status: Single
Location: Orange County, CA
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 210ish lbs
Haven’t done a bf% test (need to) but on the fitter side based on what people that comment on my physique tell me. I have unusually low self esteem for where I’m at overall in life and H&F and not sure I see myself in the same light. Putting the bf test on the to-do list.
These are my PR goals for 2025. I would like to do at least one rep easily - ideally on a bad day and without a spot.
Lifting:
Bench: 225lbs
Squat: 375lbs
Deadlift: 455lbs
Sumo Deadlift: 515lbs
Shoulder Press: 175lbs
Alternating Bicep Curls: 75lbs
Treadmill: Under 8:00 mile no incline
Basketball:
25 full court games every 3 months. I need to start keeping track. Basketball has been my main form of cardio outside of walking my dog.
Pull ups:
5x a week
Abs:
3x a week for 15 mins
Foam Rolling:
5x a week for 25 mins
Stretch Machine:
5x a week for 25 mins
Starting this thread now as I tend to spiral downwards when traveling, especially when it comes to calorie intake and lack of activity. I plan keep this thread primarily H&F related.
I have another thread over in PBG for those who might be curious about other aspects of my life/the trip.
Thanks for reading

Good luck. Pretty solid lifting numbers there; listing sumo and proper deadlufts separately is entertaining.
good luck. where are your lifts at right now/how far have you got to improve on?
I'll say that there is a huge time commitment in your OP. A ton of rolling and stretching in there if you're also going to play sport a few times a week and attempt to get a lot stronger. I know you're organised and committed but I hope you can fit it in

haha sumo feels far more natural to me!
neck and low back pain/issues will be a barrier to these goals. I am not big on excuses though just sharing in the interest of honesty and openness. Fortunately I am working with a PT and I’ve been receiving regular massage/chiro/Accu care as well.
But I wouldn’t want to do anything that would interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment protocols that seems unwise.
Still been getting after it relatively hard and consistently.

hey thanks mate. I’ve been lifting for 10~ years fairly consistently and feel as if these goals are attainable. As for current lift numbers I’m not positive as at least in 2024 I adopted a more bodybuilding style higher rep approach.
I would say bench/shoulder press is where I will need to improve on most, but with the neck/back pain/issues I will probably be focusing more time on those to start the year as well.
I liked this idea though and these PR goals can be seen as a way of pushing myself and growing personally.
I’ll be in India until 12/31, just arrived, but will absolutely see what I can do with getting the thread and my H&F off to an organized start while I’m there. It was a 42 hour journey and I’m exhausted!
Yes certainly a huge time commitment and didn’t remember to mention other things and recovery such as hot tub/sauna/steam etc but I see I made a mistake with the bottom three goals at minimum. Those are weekly totals.
I will for sure be stretching a ton daily, more than 25 minutes, however - but a lot of that will be manual stretching as well as PT homework .
Thanks to whoever reads my tldr jumbled messes! I understand my style of posting can be unreadable and a lot at times given how not concise it is
Take care all
Awesome, will be following
Am also on a mission to get my soon-to-be 48 years old body ready (both technically and physically) for an MMA fight, so might follow your example and blog regularly about choice of physical activities, diet and specific martial arts training

Hey that’s awesome wishing you all the best!! I’m sorry if you mentioned in your blog, but what motivated you to do an MMA fight? That’s impressive at 47 and happy early birthday!
I’m a bit tired and it’s possible I am misremembering but I’m not sure I do any martial arts training at this point. I would be open to getting into MMA or boxing though! Also I imagine this blog will be mostly food porn to close out this year so wait until next year to emulate any of my choices please 😃😃
I appreciate that though, thank you

Thx friend! As far as my MMA genesis goes, I had 0 interest in it prior to just over a couple of years ago when I first started practicing MMA in a dojo outside of Buenos Aires, Argentina. My initial pursuit came out of necessity more than anything else, tbh : I was living in an economically crumbling country where the security was becoming more of an issue (my family and I got robbed several times) and the woman I was dating at the time, had been severally physically abused in a prior relationship
So I felt that I needed to adapt to the socio-economical situation by sharpening my self-defense skills - one needs to fight for every bit of space in that realm -, or just the return the efff back to the first world security of Canada, and also be capable of protecting my gf (at the time) of any potential physical harm. And then I simply got good at MMA. And loved it ♥ Sparring semi-successfully-and-oftentimes-full-on-dominating with peeps that have been at it for 5 years+ yo So now I am just curious in testing my physical limits in training for a potential fight, as well as my pain tolerance facing adversity in the Octagon

No, no, I just meant emulating you in terms of blogging about Health and Fitness and my physical progress in general towards my goal, as no doubt that are training, diet etc. will have very little in common/differ greatly 😃
♥ 😀
Oh, also! Hit the fitness center. Trained full body. Did 2 sets of everything to around 80% technical failure.
