Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

I'm enjoying The Agency. Since I haven't watched The Bureau in a long time , I dont mind that it is a re-make of it. Of course it is in English, uses the CIA instead of the French DGSE, and they call Malatru "Martian" , and his lady love is a different sort of person. The Agency added more action. So there are differences. So far, The French original seems more sophisticated and stylish. Every character was portrayed like they might have a hidden agenda or a secret. So it kept me extra intri

Which makes sense because there’s far more nuance in French culture than American. The French have about 30 different shrugs!

I thought Dexter OS was decent. Obviously it's a show that wasn't really needed. I liked that the intro was kind of a teaser for Resurrection.

My biggest gripe was probably the ****-eating grin Dexter was always wearing. I know the OG Dex had it as well, but I don't recall him having it so much. I might need to rewatch bits of a few episodes.

Overall I'm somewhere between a 6.5/7.0 for ep 1

Older Dexter was definitely more somber and businesslike. I'll chalk it up to the enthusiasm of youth.

Overall I thought the first episode was good enough to keep me watching. Definitely intrigued by what role SMG is going to play.

How was Le Bureau second time around? I am considering doing it over the Christmas holidays

Was enjoyable. A nice thing about the rewatch is that you can pick up on some things that you might have missed first time round.

Probably old news, but Red One is streaming on Prime video at no additional charge.

damn i started bureau yesterday but the subtitles were total **** and my wife doesnt understand enough french

guess im stuck buying the prime addon for paramount+

looks really promising though, good setup on the pilot

1923 Season 2 - February 23rd.

The Yellowstone Season? Series? Finale had me cheering big time for what might have happened because it was happening, but of course that could never happen and didn't happen, and they fixed everything up in a couple minutes and done. Pretty weak. lol

Since they have it marked as Season finale and not Series like I thought they were saying, maybe there is some continuation, but no announcement has been made.

What ended up happening? In spoilers if you have to lol

Ranch was sold to the reservation for $1.25/acre, same amount it would have been values at when the Duttons first got the land.
Kayce kept the east camp and a small acreage to work on. Also bought 300 head of cattle to start, and planned to make his own brand, with Tate and Monica helping.

Beth went after Jamie. He fought back, and just as he was about to call the cops/incapacitate her, Rip showed up.
Beth ended up plunging a knife into Jamie's heart, killing him. Rip took him to the train station, then him and Lloyd took Jamie's vehicle to Idaho and torched it.

Beth told the investigator about Jamie's connection to Atwood, and how to trace Atwood's accounts to find the payment to the group responsible for John's murder.

Beth bought a ranch for her, Rip, and Carter to live/work on. Rip will get to do cowboy work, Beth will make the real money in business.

Most of the hands found work elsewhere.
Teeter ended up at the 4 6s. Ryan found the singer on tour, apologized for leaving her, and they ended up together. Lloyd offered to help Rop anytime he needed it.

The White Lotus Season 3 - February 16th.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but that episode is supposed to be the finale of Yellowstone in its current form.

"The Paramount Network announced last year that Yellowstone would conclude with Season 5. However, fans won’t have to bid farewell to their favorite characters just yet. While the main series is most likely ending, Deadline reported on Dec. 11 that lead actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have finalized deals to star in a spinoff series, where they will reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively.

Sources say that Sheridan is in the process of developing the spinoff, which is expected to feature cast members from Yellowstone and will likely include “Yellowstone” in the title.

Puck News first reported in August that Yellowstone was in talks to continue beyond Season 5, Part 2. Deadline then confirmed that the show’s producers, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, had been in negotiations with Reilly and Hauser for several months. At the time, it was unclear whether they would lead a new show or continue with the mothership series.

Deadline co-editor-in-chief, TV, Nellie Andreeva, reported that “while the intent remains to continue the story in Yellowstone and a source indicated that doing another season was not completely out of the question, the focus ultimately returned to doing it in a new series.”

Andreeva continued, “That would allow Paramount Network’s parent Paramount Global to keep the show within the company’s ecosystem unlike the mothership series, which has a pre-existing exclusive streaming deal with NBCUniversal’s Peacock.”

I think what confused people is that the network announced/promoted it as the season finale, rather than the series finale, which seems odd.

The White Lotus Season 3 - February 16th.

Jesus, that cast…. Mike White is one of the only TV people who I trust completely, even if I end up not liking a project of his. Vince Gilligan and Bill Lawrence are the other 2.

Territory is watchable on Netflix. I find the female lead's acting a little annoying but I don't think non Aussies would and the plot flows pretty well

No Good Deed is far better than a lot of the reviews I've seen. Granted, having 2 of the best sitcom comedic actors of all time and them not really being very funny perhaps was a misstep. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've got it on right now. It's holding my interest--which is pretty high praise from me.

I will watch anything with Linda Cardellini in it

Same. She stole my heart in 'Freaks and Geeks' circa 1999.

If you like nature/animal docs, The Secret Lives of Animals on Apple is good.
