[AriS1337][Donation] PLO- 5c/6c HU (&6-max) coaching (limits from btm to 200)

Hi, my name is Aris and I'm a HU player for 10+ years. Last ~5 years I'm playing on apps both 5c and 6c up to plo 400.
The specifics of playing HU is to study your opponent: how he thinks about the game, in what mood is he right now, what goals is he pursuing while playing poker. To collect all the pieces in one picture and to build and appropriate stategy against him! A good example would be the condition of a child who will not calm down until he disassembles the toy to small details.
I reached the point in my life when it became interesting for me not only to analyze my opponents this way, but to share all of my experience with other players. That's why I decided to start coaching.
If you're playing 5c/6c or just planning to start, wanna be better at starting 6-max tables or add HU-tables in your day-to-day grind - I can help you to become better in that.

Training basis:
1. Analysis of your game. Prepared hh's or session recordings.

2. The basics of the HU play. What is important to consider at the very beginning of the match: what strategy we follow on the preflop and how we adjust it during the match; what the postflop game is based on; building the first reads.

3. Adjustment. HU is a very dynamic game, you won't be able to sit tight. The sooner you can adjust to the current dynamics of the match and to this particular opponent, the higher your advantage will be.

4. Working in solvers. I have access to both Vision and PLO-trainer. Right now, 5c/6c is a wild West world: you will often come across the fact that solvers advise you to play one way, but in practice this is far from reality (ranges in play, bet sizes, etc.). It is necessary to draw a line between these two paradigms.

5. Mental game. I will help you with building the working process from the ground up: preparing for the game, sessions length, how to select the game better, a healthy attitude to variance. Or we can even talk about real life problems that affects your poker career. I will share all the experience I got during that 10+ years of being a poker player.

Cost.
At the moment, I offer the 1st session with each new player for a donation. It will allow you to better understand if I am a suitable coach for you + we will discuss the specific type of studying for future sessions.

For all details and questions, PM me here or in TG @aristhe13.

For the last 2 months I made ~15 sessions and It was a great experience for me as a coach.
Surprisingly, players have lots of common mistakes / areas of growth (mb I will make a list of'em, so that could be useful for you as a reader).

In addition, I didn't expect to find myself as a perfomance coach (thx for ~2 years of my work with personal mental game coach). Players usually know how to play while reviewing/discussing the hh, but in game they might feel discomfort of making decisions (something is getting in the way). So there is a gap between "I know what to do away from the table" vs "perfoming right now". And it's very crucial to find the reasons for that gap happening.

I am going to update this thread with some other thoughts on coaching, as I have a goal to become really professional in it.

Feel free to contact me. Peace!😀

Hi there!
As I've been coaching actively for the last 6 months, I'd like to share some common mistakes/patterns players make. I view them not as failures, but as the opportunities to grow! We all have: bad sessions; feeling of uncertainty in such a massive data game; and risking to fall into the trap of cognitive biases (black and white thinking; focusing on the results too much; all kinds of fear - both winning and losing, etc).
So it's not about criticism - it's about recognizing what's going on with yourself and your day-to-day grinding. Is there smth that blocks your way to a desireable level of perfomance?
Mb some points below will help you:

1. No rest days. Players are usually living like "no day without poker", which leads to a rat race lifestyle. That leads to burnout, lack of discipline, FOMO (fear of missing out - good tables, whales, "what if..") = not enough recovery and studying. At some point it becomes impossible to play your A-, B- game anymore.
Nothing new, but for most of us it can be really hard to stay away from tables for at least 1 day/week. Shifting your mindset to a long-term thinking is the key!

2. Mixing different formats at the same time. I view 5c and 6c as way closer games to each other, than 4c and 5c. So, when the player tells me smth like "In this club I have really great 4c games, so I can't stop playing them while learning 5c" - it will damage both games! You need to give your brain some additional time to see the differences in frequinces, thresholds and being able to aply your knowledge during the session.
2.1. Another example would be for mixing 6-max tables and HU. I've noticed that many players at some point start to play them very similar, forgetting ranges involved! In which spots that might happen?
Let's say you 3-bet PRE, get called, see broadway Flop and you're faced with the cbet decision: in HU you're allowed to cbet all your range (due to the high card components in your 3-bet range and to the wide sb call range), but in 6-max you're supposed to X 50% of your range:

So, being able to play several formats at the same time is a skill you need to develop!

3. Underestimating small pots. Players often focus too much on huge pots. They mark it, check it with solvers/coaches/friends just to find out that it was a standart stack-off spot.
But what most of us don't realise is that 5c & 6c are the games of small edges: small pots are also pots! If you just auto x/f them while multi-tabling, you are: 1. Loosing a significant winrate numbers; 2. Makeing your opponent's life easier!

To be continued...

Hey, 2+2 plo members! 😀

I've lost access to my initial account (AriS1337), so had to create new one, but the coaching offer is still available.
My contacts remain the same:
TG: @aristhe13
Discord: aristhe13

I have some changes in the way I make sessions with my clients:

- Increased time from 1hr to ~1hr 20 mins. After a year of coaching, I've noticed that last ~30 mins of the session are most valuable for a player: in the beginning we are kind of warming up, building the plan for study, start discussing spots/themes and at the most effective time ....ding-ding 60 mins are over. So when I get coached by sb or during my own sessions, I feel like this is wrong - after 60 mins there is still some space to bring a player value out of this session.
And that 20 min time increase is a game-changer in my opinion.
- Session recording + making doc notes afterwards. How many times we worked on our game and just forgot most of it right on the next day? I feel like players need to revisit session notes for a more stable progress. It's a high chance to spot the leak that you have and just not having any tools for making a change.
That is why I decided to write the main topics of each session in 1 place (google doc or pdf via obsidian), so that will be easy for a player to revisit it on daily basis.
- I stopped doing donation sessions since I am more confident/skilled now to bring value for any player level. And most players are not donating anyways. 😀 BUT I offer to make a call before we start working together in order to find out if I can help you/ how we are going to work/ do you want me as a coach.

Wish you to make good decisions at the poker tables and feel free to contact me. Peace 😀

My ego definetely loves that feedback from my RIO page 😃
