Bike 40 - 77

Bike 40 - 77

I open 77 in early position and an older Indian guy 3bets the HJ. It's folded to the BB, who is short on chips and calls 2 cold. Folded to me and I call.

Flop 954tt. I check, HJ bets, BB c/r. I consider all three options and decide to call two cold and see what the HJ does.

Tt means rainbow? I probably just fold here but it’s gotta be pretty read dependent. Like would he just want to get it in with A5?

How short?

"Two toned" I'd guess

Yes there was a flush draw.

It’s kind of a parlay to be ahead of both here and not get drawn out on. If I continued, I’d three bet

"How short" is kind of important here.

He started the hand with 5 or 6 bb.

I’m not a huge fan of donking but your hand might have played easier by leading. Now you’re guessing.

Opponents need to be rather unaware of your position to make continuing worthwhile, I think. LJ v HJ v BB may be the edge of where we can continue vs median awareness. Do you have a suit of interest in your hand? I think we'd rather have one for continuing but not entirely sure.

3b and it not really that close. you want any two over to fold. the goal in this situation is to have a high win rate not extracting the highest +Ev which is very debatable.

If the before the flop three-bettor will now automatically raise with just two overcards, donking is probably the right play in my opinion.

Flop doesn't really hit yours or the HJ ranges does it? Could BB understand that and be trying to get you to fold?
