basilpestos journey to midstakes grinding BIG volume
Sweat the miserable micro stakes grind alongside me!
I’m an old washed up pro getting back into the cash game scene and starting to study. I’m making this PBG to help with accountability as well as make some friends along the way 🙂 formerly an mtt player, my cash game theory knowledge is quite minimal at this time and a focus of mine will be using wizard to improve my game.
Poker in general is not very entertaining or enjoyable for me, so i’ll do my best to make the game as fun as I can. Historically, I have found my passion in poker through spending time in the lab studying, and getting those dopamine hits of achievement when there is clear growth in my game.
In the early phases of trying different pools/sites and seeing where I should focus my volume., At the moment my volume is at coin poker, but I’m not sure how long that will last. The rake is favourable for micros (comparable to others) which is nice but there are some better options out there with softer pools at micros.
Daily checklist
30 min walk
30 min lift
Review marked spots from previous day as warm up for session
Play 3k hands
Monthly target is 100k hands. For now, I’ll be grinding 25nl mostly at coinpoker until a better option arises.
The day looks pretty full with this schedule. As long as i’m consistent i’ll be content with what happens. Look forward to chatting with some of you and following along the way.
Played 3 sessions this week of 25nl at coinpoker, totaling about 13.5k hands for a profit of $32.96

Have several spicy spots this week.... Next update I should post a few I reviewed. Respect to the try hards on CP grinding 25nl playing their hearts out everyday making my life difficult. I'll see if i can hang with you guys. You have proven 25nl is no walk in the park nowadays and its going to take some dedicated study to compete.

hits hard.
What's the field like in coinpoker? Can you compare it to another platform? 100k hands per month is a tough target, how many tables do you play? Good luck!
only a 15k hand sample so far but the read is :
pros:
- rake is low and cap is low for 25nl comparable to the market
- software is decent/bearable to grind volume
- usually 6-10 games going. 10+ at peak times, 6 during non peak hours
- deposit bonus right now is great and released in usdt in increments as you play
cons
- reg to rec ratio is not very good. Virtually no limping preflop. Most regs should be small loosers/breakeven/small winners. Haven't seen many massive whales you tend to see at these stakes on regulated sites
- 5 % fee when purchasing CHP (you need CHP to pay rake so you can get 33% RB). Only really matters for micro stakes grinders. The fee makes sense for them to operate, i dont really have a complaint but it does impact your ev if your playing a stake such as 10nl or below. Keep a balance in CHP always and you'll be fine
Following buddy, GL. See u in the tables.
