i'm the opposite, my ring finger is a bit longer, substantially more than others
guess i got that low t in the womb
would explain a lot actually as a lot of stuff in my life was delayed heavily
i'm 6'2" but was still growing in college and wasn't considered tall until towards the end of high school
could not grow any facial hair other than a thin chin strap in college
my id used to say 5'10" until i relocated to maine and the woman at the counter was suspicious that number wasn't accurate
Shiner Light Blonde 4.2% ABV. Would compare it to Yuengling Flight.
That pic was taken at the oldest dance hall in Texas.
Also checked out Luckenbach while I was in the area, but I didn't see Waylon, Willie or the boys. :p
Awesome!
I may have driven by there, but I don't recall it. I really enjoyed just driving through back roads in the Hill Country when I had the opportunity.
I didn't recognize anyone in Luckenbach when I was there either, but I'm sure I got a beer or two.
Thanks for the Shiner info. Probably explains why I haven't seen it or just didn't recognize it.
Both ring fingers longer than index, story checks out.
Also, Shiner holiday beer out now. Recommend.

Check with the Hatfields and McCoys?
Hey guys, “Spielberg” here.
Just wanted to extend a long overdue apology for the way I posted on here.
Now that I’ve returned to sanity, I can see I posted like a delusional, immature, mean-spirited attention whore troll and deserved to be banned. In retrospect, you guys were kind and tolerant of me.
Anyway, I’m truly sorry. Happy holidays and no hard feelings.
Happy Holidays! Glad you're doing better.
Hey man, welcome back. I hope it continues to go well
Spielberg was one of the best nicknames in the last 10 years of 2+2.
Glad to hear you're doing well. Remember, if you don't have your health -- you don't have anything.
johan?
either way, welcome back
Not sure if I mentioned this in OOT, but I've been working for the last three+ years at converting my dissertation into a book, and yesterday I finally got everything through the review process, approved by the board, contract signed, and manuscript delivered.
Still a lot to do with copy editing, page proofs, index, etc. before it comes out, but it is finally official!
I like the old attitude better...

Awesome!
Grats on getting it finished. How does the feeling of finishing the book compare to the feeling of finishing the dissertation?
Similar. The book was a less grueling process, but much longer. In both cases, it feels like a big weight off my back.
Congrats again.
In other news I fired up Peacock and am now watching This is the End movie for the first time!
Previously I’ve only seen bits of it.
Shifting all our holiday visits to the week before Christmas was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The last few years have been so much simpler regarding travel and whatnot.
It’s great to chill out for Christmas Day/Eve and actually enjoy it.
I wish I could get away with that...
It’s definitely a tad uncomfortable the first year, but they get over it. You just have to be firm and say, “It’s this, or nothing.” I’ve always been the pleaser in my family, and I feel this bit of selfishness is well earned.
I think a lot of older relatives really underestimate the traveling and PTO burden placed on the younger family members. We’re always expected to sacrifice our time and energy for every occasion.
Its the one time of the year we see wife's family, and the only time both sides get together, so I don't think we could get enough people to agree to shifting it off Christmas. Sure would be nice though. We have the same thing with Thanksgiving on my side of the family.
speaking of gatherings, everyone at my bro's place for xmas which is in the hometown where we grew up
parents reach out to a friend of their's today, upon calling her learn that she's now in an assisted living facility
they show up to visit and while she remembers them the extent of that is debatable and she's informing them of things that is very old news as if it were new like that her long deceased husband has died and that she has grandkids - she is also unsure why she is now in a nursing home and bedridden
i had seen this woman this summer and she was 100% there, physically mobile without issue and mentally present - so whatever happened, it transpired very quickly
i think me parents are pretty shook by this as she is their age
only took me 29 days to think to look for a new LC thread...
just in time for new years.
Saw A Complete Unknown this afternoon and I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting. As a Dylan super fan, or whatever you want to call me, I thought I was going to be distracted by the Dylan imitation. That did not happen in the slightest. TC’s performance felt much less an imitation as it did him making it his own. Well done to that kid.
I was engrossed in the movie and barely made note of the couple of historical inaccuracies. Interestingly enough, it was the young lady who played Joan Baez and her singing that pulled me out of the movie for a moment. Didn’t think about it before hand, but imitating Baez’s voice was going to be the difficult job. She was fine but Baez has the voice of an angel and her falsetto is not to be copied.
Excellent movie even for the non-Dylan fan.
BTW, relax on the goddamn previews/trailers. It’s been a long time since I was in a movie theatre. But 25 minutes of trailers is a bit much. And not one that made me want to watch that movie.
less than an hour ago i saw it listed on the marquee of a theater and wondered what you thought. now i'll have to watch it.
surprisingly also heard Merle for the first time this month...guess i was still in the kitchen after the party moved to the living room
well, better lathe than never
