Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
I'm 193cm tall (195 in the summer period), Happy New Years
Is anyone watching the chess world champ games? Lots of lols this year. Who knew chess could be so dramatic.
I guess I won’t post spoilers but I’m crying laughing at some of the Reddit threads happening simultaneously
Great stuff
The challenges to Niemann are great fun.
All the Magnus fans are so triggered right now over that 2nd game Lmfao
Chess is a ton of drama. I mean, they now use x-ray devices to make sure players don't use anal beads.
Have they checked the lights for flies?
are top chess players way more cool/relatable than in decades past or are they just my own generation now?
I don't understand how b6 isn't also winning for black
Oh wow. Nice

No. Nakamura is an egomaniac even by the standards of strong GMs, Carlsen is just a douche, as is Niemann, although admittedly he's a very entertaining one. Caruana seems cool. I once played him a blitz game when he was like 8-years old and already 2200.
He's in decline, no doubt about that. Here in an earlier game one of his moves as black wins, but not the move he chose:
It's blitz. Put any elite GM's games on an engine and you'll see blunders and mistakes regularly.
I get to play in the Titled Tuesday blitz tournaments with these guys, but I'm like 380th out of 450 players or whatever so I never get paired with them 😡
After looking at this position for a minute I saw ...b6 Ka4! with the stalemate theme, but in an actual blitz game I would assume the position is super winning regardless and likely make the same mistake. I bet Carlsen was very relaxed around this moment.
He actually said he was trying to work out why his opponent was still playing and thought he was laying a trap but didn't see it.
What happens after Ka4 ....B5+, as black doesn't have to take the pawn and force a stalemate. It seems like after CxB and then ...B3, KxB ...KxC, black still has the opposition and can eventually capture the E pawn.
I am only casually knowledgeable of tournament chess. Doesn't white lose in 5 seconds anyways? I assume there is a video I could watch to find out if I was that interested, but knowing nothing of what either player should do I would assume white would just run out of time eventually.

In FIDE blitz tournaments it's 3min +2sec per move
This is the "Moderation thread". Why is all of this nonsense talk being allowed?
Why does it matter? I don't think its that serious.
